The mods on GameFAQs are the primary reason the message boards are "pure shit." Basically, if you so much as make a topic, you're royally fucked. You could post something off-topic, for example, and even though hundreds of other people post off-topic stuff in a day, nothing will happen to them. But the Mods don't care about that: Their policy is "Worry about yourself, not the actions of others." This policy is perhaps the one accurate facet of the entire site, because if you join GameFAQs, you better watch your ass every second you spend there, lest it succumb to being modded. Oh and it will. Are you flaming someone because they think the Wii has better graphics than the 360? Posting a question about Super Mario Galaxy on the Super Smash Bros. Brawl board? Complaining about your parents taking away your PS3? Putting your left sock on before the right one? Then you better have that asshole greased and ready for some hardcore modding. If a troll topic starts right next door, however, and gets over 100 posts, the mods won't do shit. This is because the GameFAQs mods are only out for one person, and that is you. Additionally, by posting a joke topic, it's automatic grounds for suspension, banning, tarring, feathering, and hanging by your own entrails, because jokes aren't allowed on the site. (Clear proof of this is the fact that "encyclopediadramatica" is a censored word). The Message Boards are Serious Business for the mods.

Some additional notes on the Advertising/Spamming rule:

If a user creates a single topic about his/her web personal site, it's acceptable as long as it's in a social setting and that kind of topic is generally welcomed by other board users. If a user creates multiple topics, it's spam. If the user is encouraging people to leave GameFAQs and visit his/her message boards instead, it's spam.
If a user is directly or indirectly profiting from a site or link, it may not be posted.
Having a web address in a user's signature or profile is perfectly acceptable, but posting to draw attention to that signature or profile to it is not.

I provided a direct link to the Nürburgring Diaries (the topic of discussion, hence its relevance) exactly one time. I did not spam anything. The link prior to mine in that same topic was to the site in general, so I provided a specific link directly to the articles in question.

You already knew what you were doing was spamming. You even mentioned it in your post by clearly stating that the other post might be deleted. The link was already provided, by your statement, so no need to post it again.

Again, the link I provided was directly to the Nürburgring Diaries, which the topic referenced directly. The comment about the other post being deleted was because it was a link to the main page of the site, which is usually deleted for spamming. Hence my comment. Also, hence my providing a DIRECT LINK to the Diaries page. I did not spam, I provided a link to the web page which was the exact topic of discussion.
