That's funny. As a general rule, the PC gaming hates DLC. With a passion. We mostly blame it on the stupid console sheeple buying whatever the big, bad devs tell them to.
And of course you get singled out. That's the way GF operates and really, that's why we're all here.

yeah, I'm a console gamer. Who happens to like Free DLC. like it should be. I just shelled out 60+ for this game. and I don't get free DLC? (sam jackson) FUUUCK YOOOU (/sam jackson).
It's why games like unreal tournament for PS3 get my attention. hell, those guys had mod competitions for the PS3. and the best one got posted as a free download. this is what should be happening. Batman Arkham asylum is another one. playing as t3h Jokah=winz. not paying for it?= MOAR WINZ. having it be a PS3 exclusive=EPIC WINZ.
why? because it's free. simple.

Except that nearly all of the best mods are user-created, not created by the devs. We've still got that over you. And lol at shelling out 60+ for a game. And even if what you said was true, that's not what PC gamers care about in the DLC argument. We used to get free DLC all the time before they called it DLC. What made the PC crowd mad was when the konsole kiddies started shelling out big money for it, which made PC devs think that they could start charging for things that they used to give away for free. |

PC gaming is where paid addons originated - they just put out new discs with mission packs on them and charged $20 for it rather than charging $5 to download the new content.

But console DLC for $5 will get very little, while those mission packs were an actual effort to expand the game.
If you played Fallout 3 and bought the operation anchorage DLC, you'll understand. Oh, and the first company to do DLC on the PC the same way it was on the consoles was Bethesda. Horse Armor! (+1 if you get that)
PC gaming is also where free addons originated. Team Fortress 2 is a perfect example. It's not the first but it's pretty much the best. I've never played the game but the amount of content that they have added would have cost you a hell lot more on the consoles.

Valve said, "fuck you" and pretty much dropped support for the game. That was somewhat true for a while, but apparently Valve got around that. Now their claim is that all of the updates for the game have caused it to be too hard to run on the Xbox. With all of the updates, the game takes about needs about twice as much RAM on the Xbox to make it work and the Xbox doesn't have the RAM to spare. They're supposedly working on it, though, and there has been one patch released for the Xbox which included bug fixes and sorely-needed balance changes, but not extra content. Apparently, though, the PS3 is still getting shafted. |

Since when are PC games cheaper anyway? and I pay for new because the games store that sells used around here, doesn't sell the used games I want. Ever tried to find KZ2 or Batman Arkham Asylum used? in my area, it's impossible. particularly when I have 1 store which sells preplayed games within 2 hours of me.
all fine and good about the formerly free DLC, but it sure wasn't us that thought up the idea of it being paid for. even if we didn't pay for it, eventually, some developer would say "we can charge for this shit". be it in PC or otherwise. Hell, I won't justify DLC unless it's free, or alot of content for not too much money. I recently learned that all 3 expansions for MGO came to 18 bucks, taxes included. that isn't bad for 5 new playable characters, new modes, and maps, to me.
in the end, it should still be free. damned straight.

Until recently, no PC game has ever cost significantly more than $50 at release (by significantly, I mean a difference of maybe a dollar or so). There's one dev that thinks they can get away with charging $60 for new PC games, but AFAIK, they've only done console ports so far. Historically, $50 has been the upper limit, while many games have been priced less than that at release. Unlike with consoles, there's no platform licensing fees, so devs don't have to pay MS or Sony for each copy of software sold. Additionally, the development tools for PC games are basically free. You don't have to pay anything to program using DirectX, but devs for the consoles have to pay for the dev kit for that console.

Yes. The trophies will be erased. If you want to be able to get them again, you have to delete and reload the GTA IV game data and erase the save files that you cheated on. Then all you have to do is fulfill the trophy parameters again and "voila!", you'll get the trophy back.
