The Super Go-Kart Budget RiderOh boy, oh boy, oh boy. I'm was going to be in serious trouble if I didn't get home by 6. My one chance was Jimmy's go-kart. If I could believe his claims, it was the fastest thing on 4 wheels in a 70 mile radius. The problem is, Jimmy tells stories like they're going out of style. But his go-kart was my only hope. It was kind of odd-looking, but beggars can't be choosers. I hopped in and my first impression was of a super-light car launched by 330 hp. This car might actually be as fast as Jimmy claims!! It's total weight came in under 630 kg, or so I found out later. I got my butt on the back road and started on the 13 miles that I needed to cover in under 7 minutes. This car handles like it's on rails, let me tell you. It's light, low, and stiff, which makes it take corners like straightaways. It did tend to hop on some of the bumpier parts of the road, which caused the car to take excursions through some grassy areas. But the power of the car, as well as the downforce, made up for mistakes like these. I kept the sticky side down for the most part as I rounded corners as fast as I could. I got to the homestretch with about 1 minute to spare. It was at this point where I became optimistic about getting home on time. I urged the engine onward, but it was limited by the transmission at 176 mph. Good brakes and more good handling got me into the driveway and into the house with 12 seconds to spare. I don't know how, but somehow I managed to get home and get myself a cookie for being more than 10 seconds early. I started to think that maybe Jimmy wasn't exaggerating when he talked about this wonderful pile of engineering. It was downright FAST.

Well, my 5:53 chase was a tad different.......
As thigns turned out, I'm not racing home for my momma. I'm racing home for my woman, who'll flip out if I'm nto home for dinner, and I'll get no nookie for a week *which is a crying shame*
Anyway I hop into jimmy's caterham, and checked my watch.... 5:52.24 was the time when i started got past the line....Jimmy ahd set his friggin clock ahead by a minute or two...tmay not have been as bad as i thought...
I've driven the car in it's stock form before.....this was nothing like it...the car was loosing grip, for the first time since I'd driven it, and i guess it was due to less than 350 kilos, total, and somewhere in the range of 300 hp.....yeah.....throttle control, even on racing super soft qualy tires Jimmy had scored, was a must.
Almost eating dirt round aremburg, the time read 1:23 on my stopwatch.....oh lawd....
The car, even though it broke traction during sudden full on, held it well over many a curve, and Karussell was uneventful.
Shooting down Dottinger Hohe, and round t13, i pulled in the the driveway at: 6:00.42...DAMN.....turn out jimmy's place it not more than 30 seconds away form mine, when going form mine to his, but it's over 7 minutes form his to mine...stupid Ring has to be one way only.... __________________________________________- Rushed and crappy, yes....good, hell no....

For my second attempt at the go-cart BR, I used the Lancia Stratos. I got a 6'56:432! Victory!!

Nice!
I've also completed this with the MR2 Spyder and Opel Speedster in testing, if anyone wants to try those.
Just a warning, the Opel is a handful without special tuning.

The Opel is the one I used. I would have to agree the handling was, shall we say, "Lively". At least until I did a bit of tweaking of the suspension, which is not my forte.
Did allright though this time, ended up with a fairly neutral handling rocketship.
I can post my settings when I come back to write up my experiences if y'all like.

I guess I'm supposed to pick someone to choose. I don't know who's picked lately and who hasn't. Anyone got a hot machine they want us to run? If so, give a shout-out, and I'll pick ya.

I had an Idea to try and make a list of all of the cars and get the fastest possible times on Nurburgring with them. I started it on gamefaqs and I have already done like 22+ cars. What do u guys think?
