Ring Race Challenge I
In the five 'Ring races listed below, get as many A-Spec points as you can. Since you pick the car to use in each race, you set the bar as high or low as you want.
These are the rules:
a. Only one try at each race. No practicing. If you don't like the line-up or the A-Spec points, quit before the bell rings. Then find a new car or line-up. Once the bell sounds, your choice of car is official. Finish the race.
b. If qualifying is permitted, you may qualify only for position. You cannot change cars or modify the car once you have started qualifying.
c. Do not race your potential car in other races in the series to check its performance. Your choice will be based on the line-up against you and the A-Spec points available.
Report back with results. I'm hoping we hear some good race stories and learn something along the way. Friendly competition, as always.
Here are the five series with Ring races that I've picked for this challenge:
1. Professional Events--World Classics 2. Manufacturers Events--Club M 3. European Events--Europe Classic Car League 4. European Events--Pan Euro Championship 5. Extreme Events--GT All Stars
Good luck.

All the luck in the world wouldn't have helped when you suck as much as I do. Let's get this train wreck underway, shall we?
First race: World Classics. Car: 1970 Plymouth Superbird It's got a FC 6-speed, stage 3 lightweight and every go-fast part you can buy. But it was no match for the single decent car in the race-- an A/C Cobra 427. I got stuck behind some twink in an ancient Skyline who was all over the track--I couldn't get around him, and by the time I did that Cobra was more than 20 seconds ahead. I never closed the gap. Final position: 2nd. Points awarded: 0 out of 1.
Second Race: BMW Club M Car: BMW M3 CSL Bone stock. No matter what, you're up against at least one M5 and at least one M3 GTR--both far superior cars to this. Add in the AI's perfect driving and my hamfisted imitation of driving, and you have a recipe for disaster. All I could do was watch the AI cars pull further and further away until I was alone on the track. Points awarded: 0 out of 89.--6th Place
Third Race: European Classic Car: Ginetta G4 This was actually almost a competitive race. I had to reset the lineup a couple of times to get rid of a 300SL and a Cobra, but once they were gone it was stacked pretty heavily in my favor. The only moderate threat was a Lotus Elan, and surely I could do better than it, right? Wrong. I was in second by the time I got to Aremburg, and the Lotus was a mere 3 seconds ahead. By the time I hit the Karussell it was 11 seconds ahead. Kliener Karussell, 13 seconds ahead. It finished 12 seconds ahead (made up a second on the front straight, woo frickety hoo). Points awarded: 0 out of 4.--2nd Place
Fourth Race: Pan Euro Car: Aston Martin DB9 Outclassed, outgunned, outrun. You're tired of hearing about my crushing defeats by now, so I'll cut to the chase. I never stood a chance. Points awarded: 0 out of 174.--6th Place
Fifth Race: GT All-Stars Car: Aston Martin Vanquish Points Awarded: 0 out of 200. 6th Place
Total Points: 0 Total Time: Don't ask.
It's times like this I realize just how bad I am at this game. --- I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that you're a moron.

JW, if I wasn't laughing so hard at your report, I would feel sorry for putting you through that.
But, without regard to talent, you have once again captured the spirit of the game. Kudos for race five, where you went for 200 points.
Hmm, sounds like the A/C Cobra--which I own--might be a good pick for the classics.

It occurs to me that a couple points might win this thing. It is easy to lose a one-lap or two-lap race with no second chances...

BR: I was spending my summer vacation in Germany with my rich uncle and his son, Berndt, who was called Bob by everyone. They had thought up a challenge for me, and I accepted it without thinking twice. The name of the game was that I was to race Bob with a car of my choice, and could keep the car if I won. If crashed it, I'd be shoveling biodynamic fertilizer for a looong time.
I wanted to race the Jaguar XJ220, but my uncle turned me down. "Unacceptable, he said. You know, it's a legendary car. They don't make them anymore so it'd be too hard to find a replacement. Tell you what, race the Pagani Zonda C12S instead, it's just as good, but I can order a new one if you crash it!" That was fine by me.
Berndt went first. He crashed the car at Adenauer-Forst but somehow the car wasn't damaged much and he still managed a 7'34.722. He seemed to be on the edge all the time, but his computerlike reflexes saved him from further accidents.
It was my turn. Everything went well, until I dropped a rear wheel on grass at the exit of Schwedenkreuz and spun out. Luckily the car remained intact, but now I had a lot of time to make up. Frustrated, I accelerated out of Aremburg. I was way too nervous now, fell victim to violent oversteer and ended up ass first into the armco at A-F. Oh dear. I was in luck, as I survived without a scratch. But the Zonda didn't. The car was totaled and I was looking at several years of shovel duty.
I think I'll do The Ring Race Challenge next. ---

Ring Races
Some flaws in this game I made up...mostly in choice of races. But still a challenge. Here are my results:
Race 1: Professional Events, World Classics
Wary of the A/C Cobra that did in JW, I shuffled the line-up to get rid of it. A lot like getting rid of cockroaches. I ran the Chevelle SS 454 against a Spider, Skyline Sport Coupe, G4, Toyota 200GT and Corvette Coupe.
The race ended after Aremberg. I had moved up on the lead pack--the Spider, G4 and the Toyota-- coming out of Hocheichen. I led into Schwedenkreuz, where those three and the Coupe caught up. We went four across at the end of Schwedenkreuz. You might have noticed there isn't enough room for that...The G4 spun out into the kitty litter, the 2000GT smacked me in the side and wobbled out of the way. The Coupe avoided the melee but slowed...I powered out of it and grabbed the lead. Race over.
Time: 9:02 Points: Three.
Race 2: M Club
I was surprised to see 15 points with the M-5 racing against the usual suspects: CSL, GTR, M5, Coupe and M3. The CSL provided the most competition. I passed the M5 on the inside at left-hander before Ex-Muhle and then followed the CSL to Galgenkoph. As I hoped, I slipped by the CSL on the straight and won by two seconds.
Time: 7:58 Points: 15
Race 3: Europe Classic
There was no need to have this race in the mix. Sorry about that. No Cobra again, but I forgot about the SL Coupe, which beat my Guilia Sprint Speciale by 23 seconds. If you haven't driven the Alfa Romeo yet, try it. Why hasn't this been a WR™? Also, odd start. The AI squeezed me into fourth before we even reached the start line.
Time: 23 seconds back for 2d place Points: 0 of 13
Race 4: Pan Euro Championship
I pulled the M5 back out. I had to restart the game about two weeks ago, BTW. Had not driven the M5 for months. What a beauty. I was up against the SL600, SL65 AMG, BTR, RS 6 and the Cizeta.
The BTR took an early lead, I closed near Adenauer, pleased to see the AI has the same troubles with the BTR that I do. I decided to trail the BTR and wait for another mistake. It came at Hohenrain, where he flopped against the armaco long enough for me to get by.
I held the lead until Bergwerk, where he passed me smartly on the inside. We battled almost all the way to Klostertal, where I got the better of some shoulder rubbing that the BTR initiated. The BTR ended up falling to fourth place and the SL65 and Cizeta passed him. It must have been a real battle because I finished 28 seconds ahead of the Merc.
Time: 15:26 (7:46 and 7:40) Points: 107 (woo hoo)
Race 5: GT All Stars
I took a flyer on the GT LM Race Car Spec II. I flushed the line-ups to get rid of the obvious problems (Minolta, Sauber, etc). Unfortunately, I hadn't seen the BMW V12 for awhile. Ouch. I had third sewn up until the McLaren F1 GTR ran me off the road at Hohenrain. There was a fist fight in pit lane at the end of the race.
Time: 13:30 (first was 12:38) Points: 0 of 176
Total points: 125.

Ring Challenge results:
World Classics- Used Alfa Sprint Speciale for 90 pts. I was able to pass the pack early and build up a 5 sec. lead. Just before Karussel, the '63 Corvette had closed the lead to 2 secs. I was off to the races after that finishing 8.6 secs. ahead of the 'vette. 90 of 90 pts.
M Club- Used M3 coupe for 135 pts. Another very close race with me being able to close the gap before the lead car would take off again. Came in 2nd. Forgot to note lead car. 90 of 225 pts.
Euro Classics-Used Karmann Ghia for 82 pts. Very tight, tough race, with me trailing 5 secs. behind the whole time. Came in 2nd to a Lotus Elan. Kept switching lineups to avoid the dreaded 3some here. 90 of 307 pts.
Pan Euro- Used M3 GTR for 91 pts. No contest! Took the lead quickly and never looked back. 24 secs. ahead after the first lap, I just cruised through the second to finish 27 secs. ahead. 181 of 398 pts.
GT All Stars- Used Gillet Vertigo for 42 pts. Uhhhh....... I would rather not talk about it. Hey Uncle! I broke your car! 181 of 440 pts.

Five Ring Circus
World Classics:
I went with a supercharged ’69 ‘vette because I know this race always has one rabbit and 4 tortoises. I also knew it would give low points, but I was disappointed that it was only ONE! Had I known that, I would have gone with S3’s instead of S2’s. But I guess that’s part of the challenge…guessing what your points are going to be before actually entering. My rabbit? The AC Cars 427 S/C. He, of course, jumped out to a whale of a lead before I made my way past the turtles. I caught him and got on his bumper by Karussell, but then he pulled back out to a 3 second lead though the technical section, which he maintained to and through D-H. In an act of desperation, I used the guided missile strategy in the final turns, and nailed him in the rear quarter-panel. I then beat him to the line by 2 seconds for unfulfilling 1-point win.
Points: 1
Club M
Car: M3--The M5 was starting in 4th, so I went with that lineup, even though the M3 GTR was on the pole. I was picking them off one at a time early. But when I reach the M Coupe, which was in second place, I tried passing on the outside of Schwedenkruez and got shoved off into the grass. I made a nice save, sliding back on the track in 4th place, just behind the M Coupe and the M5 which had passed both of us in the confusion. I got back past them and caught and passed the GTR by cutting inside of him in the sharp right between Mutkurve and Karussell. By Galgenkopf (last turn before D-H) I had built up more than a 2 second lead. I knew the M5 would be coming hard and fast once I hit D-H so I wanted to take that last corner a fast as possible. OOPS!! I dropped a tire off into the grass on the outside and spun…ending up in the middle of the track. The M5 and both of the M3’s each slammed into me in succession, punting me farther and farther down the track until I finally got straightened out and going again. It was a lost cause. It was even too late for the guided missile attack. I finished in 4th.
Possible points: 141 Points won: 0
Europe Classic Car League
Ginetta G4 against three Alfa’s, a Karmann Ghia and another G4. Easy lineup. Easy win. Too easy. Only 8 points.
Points: 8
Pan Euro Championship
BMW M3 GTR against (in the order of their finish) Jaguar XJ220, Pagani Zonda C12, Audi Nuvolari Quattro, RUF BTR, Merc SL 600 (R230). I gave my M3 a Stage One NA tuneup, a racing chip, S3’s, and full drivetrain upgrades. Turned out to be an easy win. Margin of victory was 24 seconds at the last split. I thought I might be overdoing it, but after averaging 3 points per race for the first three, I wanted to be sure of a win.
Points: 148

I have to confess that I just did this race for max points about a month ago, so I had a little bit of an unfair advantage, as least in knowing what car to use and what kind of a lineup to look for. I used the Motul Pitwork Z, modded to 721 hp on the setup screen, 711 hp on the replay screen. I went through at least 6 or 8 lineups and then hit the magical, mystical, perfect lineup! All Group “C” cars for max points, and a slow one in the front. It was the Toyota GT-One, the Playstation Pesky, Audi R8, Peugeot 905 and then the Sauber. The 905 held up the Sauber enough that I passed them both almost immediately, and started chasing down the front three which were being held up by the GT-One. By A-F the Pesky had gotten the lead, but I was already in 2nd. I passed the Pesky by getting inside of him on the “hit” of miss-hit-miss. I had a 3-second lead at the end of the first lap, but then the Pesky started reeling me in, and was right on my tail through the technical section. I think his tires started going away then, though, and I was able to slowly pull away for a 1.9 second victory!! Total time for both laps was 12’26.675.
Points: 200!!! (I had only managed 139 when I did it a month ago)
Total Points: 357

A couple of weeks later, I managed to persuade my uncle to give me another chance. Bob objected though, as he enjoyed having me work at their family business. He was the foreman and never cut me any slack.
This time, I neglected their suggestions and chose a Tommy Kaira ZZ-II for us to drive. Again, Bob wanted to go first. I was more than happy, as it is a lot easier to aim for a known time.
Bob wasn't in luck. He bounced off the armco at Flugplatz, and kissed it again later (I forget where). Still, he ended up with a 7'31.150. But the car was in a bad shape so we got it repaired and came back another day.
The ZZ-II was a lot more stable than the Zonda, and I clocked a 7'25.738 without too much difficulty. I was freed from my gas mask! I was happy, but couldn't help thinking how happy I would have been if I had chosen the ZZ-II first. I could have kept it then, instead of trading it for my freedom.
Work started to pile up and Bob was in trouble without his "expert excrement expediter" (place that quote and get a cookie!). He thought it'd be a good idea to race another round, and for once, I agreed with him. But my dear uncle didn't. He said: "Listen, guys, I do love to watch you race, but you've already totaled my Zonda, and repairing the ZZ-II wasn't free, either. So no more racing." In time, I'm hoping we can turn his head.

The Ring Race Challenge:
World Classics:
For this one I used a '63 Skyline 1500 Deluxe with NA1, racing exhaust and S3s. My mistake was that I used the stock 3-speed tranny, causing the car to top out at 140km/h (87mph) so I was at the rev limiter for most of time on straights. There was a 2CV that I passed (the autopilot did, actually) before the starting line but got owned by everybody else. I was 3rd for a while as I passed Alfa Spider 1600 Duetto and Corvette C1 around Schwalbenscwanz, but couldn't block them on the D-H so I finished 5th...dang it.
Possible points: 60 Points won: 0
Club "M":
M3 '04, bone stock, no oil change.
The GTR started from pole, followed by M Coupe, M3, M5 and CSL in that order. Hatzenbach didn't go too well though there was no major problems. I passed the CSL at Flugplatz, but the others were too tightly clustered to allow overtaking. I had to wait until A-F to pass them, but I was second after that. The GTR had pulled away from the pack by then, but I kept gaining on him until I seized the first place by braking late for Karussell. After that, everything was neat and tidy, and I won with a time of 7'58.983. That was 3.4 sec ahead of the M5 that had passed the GTR at D-H.
Points won: 131
Europe Classic Car:
Another disaster. I used a used Fiat 500L with S3s, FC gearbox, Sport clutch and flywheel, and hp boosted to 63. Though it had ok P/W ratio, the car was just too slow and I finished 3rd, 19 seconds behind the winner, an Alfa Giulia.
Possible points : 27 Points won: 0
Pan European Championship:
I had raced this for 200pts before in a stock M3 GTR, so I just sorted my garage by P/W ratio and went looking for something similar in performance. I settled for my beloved stock RGT. The third lineup I got was worth a nice 167pts so I went for it. Lineup was Tamora - XJ220 - SLR - Cizeta - M5. I passed the M5 almost immediately, right after the fast right before Hatzenbach. I tried to pass the Cizeta at Flugplatz as I was a lot faster there, but the Cizeta is a wide car and managed to cut me off. The AI doesn't seem to have a clue on how to take that particular bend, it even uses two braking points. I tried again after Schwedenkreuz as I had more momentum and there was space on the left side of the track. But the Cizeta cut me off again, hitting my front end and destabilizing my car. I tried to correct and it was about as big a success as I could hope for, given the situation. I slid to the inside, all the time braking, and my lucky drift over the grass ended in the middle of Aremburg right behind the Cizeta and with nose pointing at exactly right direction. My Cizeta problem solved itself when the bastard crashed in the left on top of the hill before A-F. I was lucky again because the Cizeta almost hit me when bouncing between the armcos. The SLR wasn't too far away, and I caught up with him at Kallenhard. We battled it out until Wehrseifen where I braked later and seized the 3rd place. After successful turn at Bergwerk, I was drafting the XJ220 and managed to pass him about halfway between Bergwerk and Mutkurve. He must have eased off the throttle or something. After Mutkurve, we were side by side with the Tamora, but I had brake early for the next fast right because I was on the outside. Instead, I passed him from the inside at Klostertal(?). After that, things were peachy. Not much to write about. Just nice racing lines, no incidents except for unintentional drifting through Bergwerk which I got under control nicely. The second lap time was 7'21.963, less than four seconds slower than my RGT record. Total time 14'58.984, 17.5 secs ahead of the XJ220.
Points won: 167 --- Currently suffering from the lack of a good sig.

The Ring Race challenge, continued:
GT All Stars:
Like Don Papa, I must admit that I knew a little something about getting high points in this one. I used another JGTC machine, the Woodone Supra, with Stage 3 turbo and on R2s. This got the car up to a garage figure of 788hp. The first(!) lineup I tried was a good one, worth 199pts. It looked like this: 787B - PS Pescarolo - Speed 8 - R89C - Vertigo. I drafted the Vertigo until overtaking him at braking for Hatzenbach. This involved a little DTM-style contact. Again, I was faster through Flugplatz, so I managed to draft and pass the R89C on the following "straight". I was overly cautious at Schwedenkreuz and the Nissan got past me again. But his luck didn't last. I got past him quickly after Aremburg and got to draft the Speed 8. It was then I noticed that I was faster on straights than the group C/LMP cars (what gives?). I battled it out with the Speed 8 through A-F, and passed him on the following straight. At Karussell I was just 3.5secs behind the leader. The 787B and the Peskie gained a little more gap through the first half of the technical section, but by the Pflanzgarten II split (T9) I was only 3.3 secs behind the 787B again. The distance between the 787B and the Peskie was perfect for drafting, so I drove in a nice slipstream all the way through D-H. at T10 I was at +3.4secs, passed the Peskie shortly after that, and the 787B just before T11 (-0.3 then). Woot! I gained almost 4 secs on D-H only! Nothing special happened before Mutkurve, I was just gaining more lead slowly but surely. At Mutkurve, I went over the curbing on the inside and got a horrible sideways exit with the right rear wheel on the grass. Still, I was 6.9secs ahead of the 787B by then and could ease off slightly. Mutkurve served as a perfect warning signal since I was very close to losing the race there. At the beginning of D-H I had a 3.7second lead, and a 5 second lead at the end of it. So I gained 1.3secs without drafting. In the end, I won by 6.1 seconds. The latter laptime was 6'10.053, and total time was 12'29.039 A very scary race, I was afraid of losing it all the time. The others finished in the same order as they started, only the R89C had had trouble somewhere and finished last.
Points won: 199!!! (I thought this wouldn't be beaten, but little did I know... Congrats on the full points, Don Papa!)

The Ring Race Challenge
Egads, what a disaster! All cars used were modified completely in terms of drivetrain, suspension, and brakes. No weight redux, hp mods, or tire upgrades were performed unless noted. I avoided reading people's reports so I wouldn't taint myself with information.
World Classics:
I went with a Corvette C1 that I had in my garage, demodified its hp, and shuffled the line up until I had a car that I thought would be competitive, the Cougar. Only 9 pts. but quite fun. I passed the Cougar, which started in 5th, while he was stuck behind a skyline. For the remainder of the race I spent my time blocking him. I was faster through the turns, he was faster on short straights and slightly curvy "straights". As I hit the DH I thought I was in for hell, but surprisingly, my top speed, which I hadn't been able to use anywhere else, was comparable to the Cougar's, and I didn't have to block him once there. I won by .864 seconds.
Points won: 9
Club M
Took the M Coupe, gave it an NA 2 upgrade, as well as a racing chip. I shuffled the lineup until I got the M3 and the M Coupe up front. 150 pts. The M5 started in 5th, and proved to be the top car. In the straight before Schwedenkreuz the M5 passed the CSL, and I passed the CSL shortly after. Coming out of Adenaur Forst, I was right on the M5s butt, and we simultaneously passed the GTR and M Coupe, but I was unable to make the move I needed to get around the M5. As we made our way to Bergwerk, catching up to the M3 together, I stayed right with the M5, but was unable to pass. Out of Bergwerk, he powered away from me, and dashed my hopes when he effortlessly passed the M3 before Mutkurve. I continued to make up ground on the M3, and the GTR had started to make up ground on me. At Wipperman, with the M3 fairly close in my sights (the M5 was gone at this point) I caught some grass, smashed the armco, and the GTR flew past me. I slowly made up the ground I had lost on the two of them, as the GTR got stuck behind the M3, but as we hit the DH, the GTR raced around the M3, the M3 powered ahead of me, and I watched as the CSL, a mere dot in my rear view got closer and closer. I managed to finish ahead of the CSL by a small margin, but 11.602 seconds behind the M5. Failure to pass the M5 before he got around the M Coupe was probably what cost me a chance at winning the race.
Points won: 0
Europe Classic League
I pulled out my Lotus Elan, never before used, and shuffled the lineup until I got rid of the 300, the Jag E-type, and the AC, all of which I knew would be too much. Unfortunately I had thought I remembered the Mini Marcos and Ginetta being comparable to the Elan's 104 HP. Obviously I was wrong, and the Fiat dragged my points down further. Even the other Elan and the Alfa 1600, which were comparable proved to be no competition. I won easily with a 25 second margin for a measly 7 points. Had I not forgotten to add in driver ballast I may have gotten another point or two out of it.
Points won: 7

Pan Euro Championship:
I took the Lotus Motorsport Elise, added NA 2, Racing Chip, and Racing Exhaust, and found myself in a 200 pt race. The Tuscan Speed 6 massacred the field, and I made too many mistakes to keep up with 2nd and 3rd place (a SLR McLaren and I forget what else) This left me battling for 4th with the M5 and an Aston Vantage. I battled my way past both, and built a healthy lead until the DH at which point the M5 forced his way past me after being blocked a couple times. I caught back up to and passed him before Bergwerk, and held my lead for quite some time. I might not be getting first, I thought, but at least I get to avenge my loss in Club M. Wrong! Following Pflantzgarten, I trailed a tire off into the grass, spun out, and simply didn't have enough track left to catch the M5. 5th place.
Points won: 0
GT All Stars
I remembered this being filled with race cars, but I mistakenly thought it was LM cars, not class C, and picked the RX-8 LM, gave it a stage 3 turbo, thinking it would be enough to get me a couple extra points. Imagine my surprise when I saw the lineup. No guts no glory. Absolute massacre. End of story.
Points won: 0
I suppose I can't be faulted for the attempts for points I made, though.

RingRaces I am a bit behind in doing this because : A) I watched Australia qualify for the World Cup the other night (Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oy!Oy!Oy! ) B) I am back at work ( Sob )
World Classics Alfa Romeo Giulia SprintGTA Alfa Romeo Sprint Special Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto Nissan Silvia (CSP311) Mercedes 300SL
I chose a Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Special with a Stg. 1 NA tune and sports exhaust ( 153 hp total )
I was so surprised to see the Merc 5th on the grid I nearly spilt my Martini ( I like to go racing in style ) I sorted out the Merc & Silvia during the first esses, had a brilliant run through Flugplatz which set me up for a fast run all the way to Aremberg where I ended up second behind the GTA. He tried to tip me out at A/F so I returned the favour at Werseifen. Then it was a lonely race until DH where the Merc finally caught up.I made my car very wide and was able to hold him off, he must have had a moment at the last R L R as I ended up winning by 5 seconds. Love the Alfa, very sweet car.

Club M M3 CSL M Coupe M3 GTR M5 M3 I used a '98 M Coupe I had in my garage modded with Stage 3 NA , FC Gearbox and it already had stage 3 weight reduction which I could not change so left as was.
Started off well, then there was a bit of mayhem at A/F leaving me last and about 7 secs in arrears. Undeterred I chased hard and was 4th in a train by Karussel. I managed a desperate overtake through the section after Plantzgarten and was first onto DH ahead of the M5 He shunted me going down the straight, giving me enough of a lead to hold him out entering the last slow corners. I finished with a 8 ' 07 .793 he got second with a 8 ' 08 . 700 Very close, very satisfying. I like the M Coupe as well.

Not a good race for me. Got badly manhandled at Flugplatz by the Ginetta I think and although I waved to the Lotus parked in the trap at Aremberg as I went past, the Merc was long gone. I ended up 31 seconds behind at the finish with a 9 ' 43 . 869 I liked this Alfa too, very sweet. Points on offer : 87 Points won : As they say in the Eurovision song contest , kein punkt! Total points to date : 61
Pan European Jaguar XJ220 TVR Tuscan Speed 6 Pagani Zonda C12 Lotus Elise Aston Martin DB9 I chose a BMW M3 GTR , I had not driven this car before but it had given me some grief in the Club M race. Due to the tough grid lineup I added a chip, racing exhaust and FC gearbox for a total 424 hp
What a race, what a race! I had a bit of argy bargy with the DB9 through the esses but I gave him a heavy blow which sorted the matter out. The Elise self destructed at the same time. Fast run run through flugplatz ( 115mph ) and Schwedenkreuz (137) gave me the chance to take the Tuscan and Zonda on the inside before Aremberg. I caught and passed the Jag at the slow Werseifen and then had him follow me by about 2 to 3 seconds all the way to DH where he passed at the slight left at the end of the straight. Unfortunately ( for him ) he messed up at the slow corners and I was able to scoot through. Second lap was pretty similar with me holding a variable 1.5 to 2.5 second lead right up until DH. He came at me hard but I was able to block him out this time and finished 1.16 seconds ahead in 15 ' 19 . 035 yeehaaa!! One of the best races I have ever had, some luck involved but no mistakes. RingRaces GT Allstars
For this I went back to an old favourite, a Nissan Fairlady Z Concept LM, detuned to stage 3 for 746 hp ( I could not get it any lower ). I debated using R2's but went with R3's hoping they would last. At first glance the grid looked pretty fierce :
AMG Mercedes CLK GTR Racecar Sauber C9 Ford GT LM Spec 2 Toyota GT One Ford GT LM Racecar '02
I really like the Fairlady, it served me well early in the game after I got it ( I cannot remember where from ) winning a lot of Races. So it was like slipping into a comfy pair of old slippers. At the start passed the '02 Ford almost straight away and the other Ford and Toyota before approaching Schwedenkreuz. The Toyota tried to push me off at Aremberg but then went around the outside of me, so I was able to lean on him to stay on the track while he went into the kitty litter. Caught the CLK exiting Bergwek then settled into chasing the Sauber who was 6.5 seconds up the road. Made up some ground from Galgenkopf to the start finish line ( 201 mph top speed on straight, thats scary!) Second Lap : the Sauber seemed to be able to hold a 3 - 4 second lead so I had resigned myself to finishing second driving conservatively. Then suddenly I was right on his tail at Karussel and he was struggling. So I monstered him through the technical section and he finally cracked and lost it approaching Brunnchen(?). As my tyres were starting to turn a deep shade of orange I figured his were worse! Took it easy after that to run home 21 seconds ahead for an easy win in the end. Total Time : 12 ' 50 . 090 Points won : 114 Total Points : 356 Not bad for an old duffer!
Doing these races was great fun as, apart from the Formula GT series and some DM's , I have not done any “pure” races at all for ages. Nice work Sacked.

Somehow (why the gods of drift would smile on a gripper like me I don't know) it all came out right, and the superiour handling of the little Mazda took a 2-length lead and stretched it out by 5 as my other nemesis, Galgenkopf, grew rapidly. As we came out onto the straight, the Merc breathed a sigh of relief, stopped wallowing, and ate my pathetic 1.5" lead with great glee. Instead of rear-ending me he tapped the brakes; left, then, right, then left again, inches apart at 124 mph. From one edge of the track to another we dueled; he ended up trying the outside line into Antoniusbuche and lost out to my faster line. After that the lighter weight of the 110S paid off and I took the flag with relief and a 0.650" margin.

2. Manufacturers Events--Club M
I've already obtained 200pts in this race using an M Coupe, so I decided to go for something easier. Picked out my Imolarot M3, set it back to stock (it had a full complement of drivetrain mods from doing the El Cap Enduro) except for keeping the S1s on it.
The Club M lineup only changes in order, never composition, so I felt lucky that the first to pop up had the M5 directly in front of me and the slow-ass (comparatively) M Coupe on pole. Points: 141
Cold hard S1 rubber did me no kindness through the first technical situation, and I capped it by botching Flugplatz and flying sideways into the Armco. Sure that all was lost, imagine my surprise when I caught back up to the pack in the final right of Adenauer-Forst! I even got the M5 in this bend. Turns out the M Coupe had fended off the lot of them nicely and their infighting behind him slowed everyone down. I was in second going into Miss-Hit-Miss and Breidscheide saw me take the lead!
Mr. Coupe in fact held the lead all the way to Hohe-Act; the M5 went from dead last at Bergwerk to crammed up the Coupe's capacious ass from Mutkurve all the way to the bend before T7, at which point he took the lead a full 7 seconds behind me. Huzzah for slow cars on pole! I won by 4.250"
Time: 8'04.324" 141/141 pts, total 204
3. European Events--Europe Classic Car League
I took out my Elan, stripped out the HP mods but left in the custom tranny and drivetrain mods, and slapped on N2s. I then shuffled lineups until there were no Fiats or Mini Marcoses and no A/C 427s. I finally got:
Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint GTA 1600 '65 Lotus Elan S1 '62 Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto '66 Mercedes 300 SL Coupe '54 Alfa Romeo Guilia Sprint Speciale '63
Points: 53
The transmission had been set up for a short track; I took a guess at new settings and then jumped in the race. It turned out to be a little too short as I was bouncing off the rev limiter at 120 mph but it turned out to be good enough.
Despite a sloppy sector one, I was all over the Merc after Flugplatz and would have got him if he hadn't pulled wide (into my path) to pass a Fiat. Unfortunately I got out of shape coming into Aremburg and went into the sand, slipping back to 4th. I caught up faster than I though I would, passed the white Fiat coming out of A-F, and reeled in the other Elan, diving past in the R/L before Miss-Hit-Miss. To my surprise I was hauling in the Merc in steadily, and braked hard into Breidscheid, swapping paint but getting ahead for Exmuhle. After that he was no threat; I was expecting him to be all over me on the uphill run but although he was only a few lengths behind he didn't have anything extra to reel me in with. After that it was just a matter of staying on the track and not doing anything silly. The Elan can take corners on N2s nearly as fast as many cars can on S2s so there wasn't much of a problem there. Won by a whopping 5.788" (the gap had been a massive 9" flat at the start of the straight).

4. European Events--Pan Euro Championship
Like Flibutz I've previously obtained 200 pts in this race (with the GTR as well), so I emulated him and poked through cars with similar P:W. Right below it was the M3 CSL, and a bit below that the Lotus Esprit Sport 350 '00. Not having taken the latter out of the garage before, I decided to go with it rather than with the CSL which I knew could be an easy win. I instinctively changed the oil, then checked the P:W and found it had shot way up the list. Being too lazy and poor to get another, I opted for filling all the loose spaces in the cabin with my student loan past-due notices which coincidentaly came to 200 kg. I went up against the initial lineup in the race, which I knew would give good points. They lined up SL55, Cizetta, T350C, RS 6, SLR. The SLR was the obvious heavyweight, but being 5th I anticipated doing the same thing as in the M club; i.e. get to the front quicklike whilst my opponent gets mired in traffic. Points: 198
I shouldered my way into fourth before the run to Flugplatz, then set about reeling in the leading pack. The SLR made short work of the RS 6, no surprise, and wasn't too far behind me. Schwedenkruz was hairy as I completely ran out of room on the outside, with the outside of the tread sitting right on the edge of the track (checked this with the photo option in replay theatre). Came out of Adenauer-Forst right on the TVR's ass, but his superior power showed as he pulled away on the run to Metzgesfeld. I took this conservatively as I still have the bad habit of running out of track and the lack of any serious camber on this corner means understeer city when one is too hot on the entry. Nonetheless I was still braver than the TVR and I managed to outbrake him into Kallenhard and come out tailing the SL55, who had lost out at some point to the Cizetta.
Keeping my nose clean through Miss-Hit-Miss (I think I've finally settled my differences with this complex) I dove cleanly past the SL going down into Wehrseifen. With the Cizetta a mere 0.7" ahead, I got too eager at Breidscheide and put it into the outside wall, caroming into the grass on the other side and then clipping the inside of Exmuhle. By the split after Bergwerk, despite being still in 2nd place, the Cizetta was 3.8" ahead. Fortunately the SL55 was playing hard to get, and the TVR and SLR were banging away behind him. The SLR of course won out on the long pull up the hill. Somehow I only lost a tenth to the Cizetta.
Despite a hairy moment at Hohe Acht and another all-too-typical agricultural excursion coming off that hard right between Eschbach and Bruunchen, I reeled in a second before the Pflanzgarten section. I caught up some more due to the AI's cowardice there, but watching my mirrors too much (looming SLR) resulted in some mistakes and I was still 3" back coming out of the Gallows corner (Galgenkopf). It was block-block-block with the SLR all the way down the straight, but I was well pleased to see the Cizetta hadn't been able to cope with the Schikane and was pulling out of the grass as I came into it. I got inside of him on the very last right and took the lead, though both of us ran wide and right off the track.
The Cizetta continued to have problems, but despite no less than 5 offs between the start and Hocheichen, every single time he managed to come out just in front of the SLR, allowing me to open up precious seconds. Unfortunately he lost it coming into Aremburg and went backwards into the sand, freeing the SLR to hunt me down. I kept the gap steady at 3" but lost time on the uphill run to the Karussel. By Pflanzgarten it was 1.8" and by the split after Galgenkopf it was a mere .122" but I held him off to the line to win with a 0.749" margin. Huzzah!
Time: 15'27.648" 198/198 points

5. Extreme Events--GT All Stars
Another race where I've already got the full points before, using a Motul Pitworks Z, so I tried something different. Took out one of my black 787Bs, the one that had had an oil change, and shuffled lineups until it was almost all LMP1-quality opponents; Playstation C60, GT-One, R8, Minolta and Toyota 7, for 167 pts. There was 100 kilos on my 787B from some previous race and I left it there.
Mindful of my tendency to crash at the very first corner in high-powered cars, I took it nice and easy all the wa to Hocheichen. The Toyota 7 made things easier by bouncing off the walls before the first significant right. I unfortunately didn't go far enough too the outside at Flugplatz and lost it into the Armco, which kept me at least pointed the right way as I resumed my pursuit.
Aremburg was ugly as I first tasted some inside grass and then slid the left rear into the gravel, but directional integrity was retained. I caught up the Audi, Minolta and GT-One at A-F; the C60 was already opening a small gap. I got a good drive out of A-F and immediately smoked the Audi and Minolta; the GT-One I passed into Metzgesfeld, and then after skittering through Miss-Hit-Miss and tailing the C60 into Wehrseifen, I got him at Breidscheide (which the AI is always conservative at). The Mazda was being very skittish, thumping heavily even though I wasn't bottoming out at all, and given that my springs were still moderately stiff the wheels shouldn't have been slamming into the tops of the wells, but maybe they were? Anyway, by the split after the Mutkurve I was already looking at a 4" lead, and it was looking pretty sewn up -- except for the whole handling thing.
Held it fairly well together on the run down from the top, but by the entrance to Pflanzgarten I had given up a full 2 seconds. Gained one back through that section, but I ran wide on the entrance of Galgenkopf and bumped the Armco hard. Coming back onto track sideways, I overcorrected too hard, swinging the tail around towards the inside of the curve and nosing it into the outside Armco once more, then bounced back on track once more, again whipping my tail around, this time onto the inside kerbing. A panicked tap of the brakes ended with me violently spinning, as the C60 merrily zoomed past my now perpendicular vehicle. I got 'er underway again just in time ,as the trio of Toyota, Toyota and Audi crested Galgenkopf and came pretty close to my tail.
Surprisingly the C60 wasn't that far ahead. I drove like a sensible person through Sector One, and by the Flugplatz split the gap was below 2" once more. I thought about a move at Aremburg, but then thought of the sand and simply kept station. I actually made a move coming out of Fuchsrohre but the C60 kept up too much speed and I had to yeild the line. Going into A-F proper I moved again and was rewarded by a slap across the nose; I made it alongside but then of course I had the wrong line for the right-hander and had to yeild position again. However, me being outside meant that his radius was shrunken for said right-hander and I ended up with the better exit speed and went outside of him. In typical mindless AI fashion he took his usual (and proper) wide line which pushed me half off into the grass, but I perservered and finally put him in his proper place. After that it was all a matter of keeping the Mazda pointed the proper way, which I did. Oh, sure, there was that wall-smack at Breidscheide, and the one coming off the Mutkurve, and that incident at Klostertal, and my entirely hamfisted handling of Hohe-Acht, all of which resulted in my bumper being covered with Pescarolo by Eschbach, but I kept the lead all the way and his repeated attempts to pass resulted with the Minolta catching him up and distracting him, finally passing him on the straight before doing a beautiful 720 in the Schikane.
Final gap: 03.598"
Time: 12'24.386" Points: 167/167
Total points: 622/622

Here's an interesting BR idea for you guys this week.
The Happy Thanksgiving BR!
Your catering service has landed a huge contract--thanksgiving dinner for a major company. Three huge turkeys and all the fixings are being carefully and lovingly prepared by Chef Boris, a man known for both his fine cuisine and his ridiculous temper. He's also known for his non-punctuality, and as you sit waiting on delivery-day, Chef Boris is taking his sweet time with the meal. Finally, it's ready--all 100 kilos of food. There is, of course, one small problem--you've got to haul it across town, and FAST. You know from past experience with jobs like this that it'll take you and your team at least 20 minutes to get everything set up--and the dinner is set to start in half an hour. Time to drop the hammer.
Oh yeah, and one other thing--Wreck this meal and you answer to Boris.
Conditions: Vehicle MUST be a station wagon or van. 100 kg of ballast must be placed over the rear axle (as close as you can manage..figure halfway from center to rear) The car must be street legal (N tires only, no exhaust modifications, no weight reduction, no nitrous) You go off-track--even dropping ONE wheel--and dinner is ruined. --- I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that you're a moron.

Turkeys delivered! And with 1'42.609 to spare. My Audi RS 6 Avant did the job no problem. I wasn't even tryin' to drive that hard either. Me get turkey now?

Well, I had a nice string of Nurburgring Adventures today. I decided that since I'd been given free reign of GT for a few hours, I'd play catch-up.
I started in on the 5-'Ring Circus.
First up was that stupid GT All-Stars race. I'm really not very good with race cars, and LMP-class cars cause me the most problems. Still, I bravely stepped into the 'Ring with a BMW McLaren F1; tuned, not modified (for 200 points).
I spent the greater part of the first lap being gang-raped by a Nissan R390 and a Audi R8, either being pushed off track to play armco pinball or being violated through every braking zone imaginable. Crossing the finish line on lap 1 I was 12 seconds behind the R89CP. Lap 2 I spent trying to overcome a huge time gap, ultimately burning off what was left of my rear tires (into the red at Pflanzgarten I) and eating armco for the loss at Galgenkoph. I was 31 seconds down across the line.
On my second (unofficial) attempt, I tweaked the setup a bit and won by 7 seconds. No pinball, no violation, just nice, clean racing on green-to-yellow tires. Just goes to show you how badly playing bumper cars can **** up your tires.
Next up was the Pan-Euro Championship. I figured I'd play it safe this time and hopped into a stock Ruf RGT on S2 tires. I thought I'd be safe, but I didn't count on the evil that is the Jaguar XJ220 Road Car. I came in 2.2 seconds down and gaining, but I just couldn't pull 2 consecutive 7'20 laps. I'd have passed him by Hocheichen on Lap 3.
I ended up ditching my re-run through Club "M" after I completely blew Suzuka (I really hate that track). I know we weren't supposed to race through the whole series, but I needed the practice and wanted a new M3 GTR. Oh, well. Guess I'll have to wait a bit.
After that I gave up, because I was getting really frustrated.
I gave the Happy Thanksgiving BR (with a twist) a shot in a stock Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4.
My twist was my food was prepared sooner (18 minute time limit), but I had to drive through traffic to get it, pick it up, then deliver it unharmed (or, I entered a Family Cup and did a drive-through pit stop at the end of Lap 1 to "pick up" the chow, then I had to do a clean second lap).
So far I've failed miserably, making it as far as Hocheichen with the munchables before smearing them all over my rear windows. The Legnum is a beast on N2s with that much weight in the back; even coming off driving a RGT, it was very tail-happy.

Happy Thanksgiving BR:
Finally, I got a chance to use my Volvo 240 GLT Estate '88! The 240 was very popular in Finland, and it still is. I even drove one of them two or three times, it was a turbodiesel sedan. It wasn't as bad a handler IRL as you might think. The power steering was too powerful though, it gave absolutely no information about what the front tyres were doing.
We used to have a Volvo 360GL '88 as our family car. That was the car I used to learn how to drive. It had a two liter engine producing 100hp. The steering had good feel (no power steering), but the suspension didn't work very well. It pushed A LOT. But hey, it was originally designed by DAF.
Ok, on with the BR. I bought the following mods for the Volvo: (It's in Silver Metallic, BTW)
-Oil Change -NA Stage 2 -Port Polish -Engine Balancing -Sports Suspension -Twin Plate Clutch -Sports Flywheel -Carbon Driveshaft -N2 Tyres
I didn't allow myself to use a racing chip (the car has no ECU, for god's sakes!) or racing brakes (they have to warm up for proper function, clearly not for road use!)
The upgrades brought the car up to 215 garage hp. I slapped the 100kg ballast all the way to the back. Correct me if I'm wrong, not sure at all about this, but I think that's directly on the rear wheels as GT only allows us to put the ballast on or between the wheels.
The Volvo handled nice and stable. I was close to losing it at Pflanzgarten I, but managed to stay on the pavement by panic braking. Other than that, a nice lap. I was pushing the car relatively hard, considering the circumstances. I managed a high 9'31 so the turkey arrived on time. I did half a lap before this, I used NA3 and N3s but that setup proved way too fast to be exciting.

And now for my Happy Thanksgiving BR!
Boris finished loading the food in the trunk. "You heff ten minits, boy. Please to be pushing the pedal to the metal, and if you destroy my beautyous meal, I destroy YOU!" With that helpful ultimatum at my back, I jumped into my Subaru Legacy 3.0GT Wagon (stock, refrigerator white) and hauled it.
Thank God traffic was light. As I pulled out of the parking lot I took a glance at the nearby Donut Land--every cop in town was parked there. Perfect. Not only were the roads clear, but I could speed with impunity. You'd be surprised how well a station wagon handles with more than 200 pounds of junk in the trunk. I guess the Subie wasn't a bad performer to start with, so that helped me out a lot. My Subie tracked pleasantly along the side-streets and shortcuts--they were twistier, but it kept me off the main roads where much of the traffic lied. Unfortunately it also ate up time, and despite my best efforts I was starting to run behind. I knew these roads well, and just after this next sharp left was an on-ramp to the freeway, which I could take the remainder of the distance to my goal and make up a LOT of time. My crew was already waiting outside when I screamed into the parking lot, slamming on the brakes at the front door. I popped the hatch and glanced at my watch. Ten seconds to spare--just barely made it. A quick look at my payload told me everything was AOK. Boris wouldn't be serving ME as his next entree--although if he doesn't start sooner next time I'm finding a new chef.

Turkey Run
I jumped in my Nissan Stagea 260 RS AutechVersion '98 to deliver Boris's Turkey Day delights. I drove cautiously fast and touched nary a piece of grass or curb, except that I ran my left wheels up on the cobblestones (or whatever it is) on exit of Kallenhard (the right just before miss-hit-miss) out of habit...not because I was going too fast.
I wonder, why is my cellphone ringing and ringing? I didn't have time to take my hands off the wheel to answer it.
I reached my delivery address in 9 minutes flat and jumped out to unload the feast when I noticed (DAMN) I forgot to load the food. Boris is going to be pissed. Now I know who was trying to call me on my cellphone!
Actually, about halfway through the run I realized I had forgotten to add the ballast to the back. I'll stick it in and rerun it this evening. From: oldguy1957 | Posted: 11/22/2005 6:16:43 PM | Message Detail Turkey Run II (the sequel)
I drove back to get the goodies and loaded them in the back, and headed for the delivery address again. I drove a little more aggressively this time. I figured, what the hell, Boris is going to fire me, then chop all my fingers off with a meat cleaver anyway. I might as well have some fun while I can still grasp a steering wheel.
Once again, my tires touched nothing but tarmac. I checked in with the meal a blazing second and a half faster than I had with an empty car, at 8'58.6.
The car actually drove pretty nice. I bought it used for 22,500 cr, gave it a little blue pill and an oil change, and that's all. Oh...I DID throw a set of OZ 031 rims on it, just to be cool. It's a 4WD, so maybe I'll find a use for in the special conditions hall someday.

Thanksgiving Turkey Run BR
I have been waiting for an excuse to use my '88 Volvo 240 GLT Estate. My Son and his Wife used to have the exact same one except they called theirs “Mr. Hanky”, I will leave you to work out why. This car is a behemoth, adding 100kg of food as far back as I could set it made no difference whatsoever as all up it weighed nearly two tonnes! So a hundred kg of Turkey was not going to faze it much! To get a feel for the challenge I ran it bog standard on N3's with aids off. At 135 hp after oil change it had strong brakes but was woefully underpowered and horribly geared. Anyway first lap I hit no kerbs but it took me 10 ' 46. 328 to get around. All the way round I kept having visions of Mr. Bean with his head stuck up the *** of a giant Turkey, so I was probably being ultra cautious as I did not want to suffer the same fate!! I first of all added Stage 1 N/A tuneup and tried again, at 160 hp it was no Sports Car but it was a lot better. First lap after upgrade was again kerbless but only a 10' 11.247, bugger ; too cautious I think. Next attempt was 10 ' 00 . 340 , so close but no coconut ! I also clipped the wall on the last corner so it did not matter anyway. What to do? Keep trying with this setup ? Nahh! , at ten minutes a lap I did not have the patience, so back to the tuneup shop I went. Trying to keep away from sport or racing upgrades I went for a Engine Balance. Not a huge increase in horsepower ( 166 hp ) but improved engine response and top end were the result. Excellent. First try with new upgrade yielded a 9 ' 58 . 695 with kerbs unscathed although there were a few close calls, I am going to check out some photos from the replay as there must have been millimetres in it at Aremberg and Wipperman. In the end I decided the old Volvo handled pretty well , the best way to drive it fast was to maintain momentum by tapping the brakes and coasting a lot as it did not slow down much, probably due to inertia. So I managed the dash okay but I dont think the Souffles would have survived.

Honey, I splattered the turkey dinner all over the kids! (almost)
That idiot Boris had done it again. I wasn't even sure why I had hired the buffoon. Sure, his cooking was outstanding, but the guy had no sense of urgency. He was a procrastinator of the worst kind. And as if that wasn't enough, he had a flare for being both demanding and condescending about taking care of his creations.
So here I was driving my brand new Mitsubishi Airtrek, and forced to rush, as I only had ten minutes to get it to the banquet hall across town. Sure this contract was a sweet deal, but this was a bit too much pressure. I was forced to drive far too fast.
"You wreck my dinner, and I will have your head!" Boris had screamed after him as he climbed into the driver's seat. And he was serious too. Some nerve this guy had. All I knew was that if I wrecked this dinner, and the inside of my new car because of that imbecile Boris, he'd be standing in line at the unemployment office tomorrow. Have my head indeed!
As I was fuming over the entire thing, and not paying quite enough attention to the road, I half-noticed that someone had tagged a road sign with the words "Adenaur Forst". Whatever that meant. Between Boris, and my annoyance with "taggers", my attention was lacking a bit too much, as I turned in too hard on the right hand turn of the "S" shaped section of the road, nearly ran up the curb, overcorrected, then overcorrected in the opposite direction, swinging the back end out to the left, and nearly running the back tires onto the grass. With the adrenaline pumping through my body, I refocused on the task at hand, and continued on. I was making pretty good time.
Of course I was still feeling the pressure, and with that pressure the need to push my vehicle's limits. As I passed more grafitti on a road sign, this time reading "Wipperman esses", I realized I was driving dangerously fast for how curvy the road was, and although I had maintained fabulous control of the car up until that point, I realized just how dangerous this was to the turkey dinner. Then I realized that I cared more about this stupid turkey dinner than I did my own safety. How silly I was being.
I carefully made my way through the twisty section of this road, and eventually came around a long sweeping right hand turn, and found myself a long stretch of flat, straight road. I dropped the hammer, feeling confident that I could maintain control down the straight. As I came to the end and up a hill, I slowed down, navigated a few more curves in the road, and pulled into the parking lot with 17 seconds to spare.
I was already imagining the joy it would bring me when I handed Boris that pink slip tomorrow. No chef was worth this kind of stress.

As for the Air Trek, it actually handled reasonably well. I'm not entirely sure what to classify it as though. It sort of looks like a strange hybrid of a mini-van, a station wagon, and an SUV. So I wasn't entirely sure that it met jw's regulations in that regard, but I figured what the heck. I'm not likely to have ever picked up this vehicle otherwise.

Heh -- I like this "Turkey Run" BR.
I have a twist to add to it, if anyone's interested. N2s, 300 HP or less, stock suspension, and the "twist" -- treat the 'Ring as if it were a 2-way road -- with the other lane filled by a never-ending stream of log trucks and evil-minded lorry drivers snorting amphetamines and glaring with blood-shot little piggy eyes, just waiting for someone to play "chicken" so they can leave a nasty greasy patch in their diesel-fumed wakes. Without leaving the road or your "lane" deliver the turkey in less than 10 minutes.
Drive as if you're on this shore of the Pond (right side) -- though I think I'll try it on the left side of the track too. The whole character changes when you can't use the proper lines.
Anyway, I got distracted with these conditions and haven't completed the BR yet. Or my own challenge for that matter.
Joe - Uh, how you gonna get down to the shore? Rod - Funny you should ask, I've got a car now. Joe - Oh wow, how'd you get a car? Rod - Oh my parents drove it up here from the Bahamas. Joe - You're kidding! Rod - I must be, the Bahamas are islands, okay, the important thing now, is that you ask me what kind of car I have. Joe - Uh, what kinda car do ya' got? Rod - I've got a *****IN' CAMARO!

HA !!!! You think that is bad, wait 'til you check out the Diary Archive Volumes I will put my hand up and apologise now, but it was the only way to do it. If I had tried to cut and paste one post at a time two things would happen - 1) I would surely die from Old age before I finished. 2)I would probably go completely insane before I died. BTW I will not come round to your place and beat the Tar out of you if you do NOT read them !!!! I suppose I should let Yugo know when I finish each volume so the threads can be locked, comments can then go to the current volume. Later. ps - I am going for another Beer, lol @ the Fosters comment.
