Nope, I have not purchased a PeeEssThree yet, nor will I any time soon. I have better outlets for my money (chiefly not being a broke-dick), so it'll have to wait until they're cheaper.
Also, screw dirt-track country. I'd much rather have a road course. There's also a 1/4mile track just across the river in Collinsville, IL, but I can't stand drag either. Give me a tuned Miata on a twisted country highway, and I be a happy fool.

drag racng is great fun when you can do it every weekend, and can keep putting more and more into your car.
road racing is great when you can do it every weekend, and keep becoming a better and better driver.
besides, Drag racing is cheaper. i think Red69Camaro from Gfags said it's 15 bucks for him to go racing at the 1/4 near him. a weekend at the ring is 500 euros. I bet a day at laguna or sears point is a solid 300 a standard race weekend at the 8th mile near me is....I don't even know...i think they're open to the public like..twice a year. lame as hell.

Infineon Wednesday Night Drags- www.infineonraceway.com/raceway/race/wednesday_night_drags/If I had a car worthy of putting on a track, I'd rather pay $500 to drive the course than do 1/4 mile runs for $15 or $25. It probably isn't too crowded where you're at so you'd get a lot more for your dollar there than here. At Infineon you probably get 3 or 4 runs in. The $500 at Infineon doesn't mention how much time you get on track. The 105 minutes is Laguna Seca for $250. Using my GT $/miles driven formula, or even total time driven, it's probably a better deal overall doing the full course.Even more so considering I'm 2 1/2 hrs away from Infineon, 4 1/2 from Laguna.

ok, so 3 or 4 runs for 15 bucks. that's 5 bucks a run, no including gas or tires.
or, 500 bucks at Infineon, for probably 20 laps maximum (In a full day) is still 25 bucks per lap. plus fuel, plus tires, which is used up as faster or faster than on a 1/4 mile.

Or the way I'm thinking: $15 for 4 runs on the drag strip= $15/mile with a total time of 1 minute or a little more.
If you average a 2:30 lap at Infineon for 105 mins of track time= 40 laps, or 50 laps averaging 2:00. If you only get 40 laps, that's 88 miles @ $5.60/mile.
It's just a matter of preference and how you breakdown the value of your dollar. Driving fast in a straight line for 15 seconds doesn't appeal to me. Living here I could hold on to that $25 and drive the curvy roads all around me. There's hardly ever any cops and not too many other cars.

yeah, here the cops are everywhere, and there is no blood mountain, dragon, or other really curvy styled roads to go up, unless they are in town residential. and I won't open it up in town.
I'd love to get a road track going near me too, but all I have is a 1/4 that's never open, and a 3/8th oval which is also never open to the public. So what do we do? Well, I'm trying to get a mini autoX event set up in my schools parking lot. we cone off a course, you drive it, fastest time gets a prize. simple. probably gonna be around 10 bucks to enter.

If the school lets you, DO IT!!! If not, try to get the police to team up with you and get it going. AutoX is way more fun than drag.
