www.gamespot.com/video/940047/6184536/soulcalibur-iv-official-trailer-4This new installment of the Soul calibur series looks even more awesome than any fighting game I've ever seen on my life. The graphics are mindblowing, and the fighters look even more cool looking than before. Expected release date Q2 2008 P.S.: There's a sweet, sweet, sweet surprise near the end of the trailer... I won't tell what it is to not spoil you. But I already know ;D

IDK if that's a sweet surprise or not. I mean, how are they going to make a backstory for that? And those weapons, if presented as they were in the movies, would be ridiculously OP, so they'll have to tone them down to make them at all playable.
I never even got Soul Calibur III, even though I wanted to. The problem with this one is that it's only for the 360 and PS3, which I don't have.
The graphics though.... *gasms*

When my work buddy showed me the clip, I XD'd until I hyperventilated. You're right about them being overpowered unless some changes are made, though...

I think they're there mostly for the purpose of selling more games. They've done console exclusives before, but usually the exclusive character had something to do with the console, like Link for the Game Cube. This just seems like blatant attention whoring.
Despite that, it still looks like a good game and it might be kind of interesting to see how these characters play against, say, Mitsurugi or Nightmare.

Oh BTW:
Yoda and Darth Vader are going to be console exclusives. Xbox gets Yoda, and the PS3 gets Darth Vader.
w00t!

I'd rather play as Darth Vader, tbqh. Plus, his black cape and armor match the PS3!!
This game makes me want a PS3, though. If I didn't have to worry about college next year, I might just go out and buy one.

I'm really sorry to bump this, but I am a HUGE soul Calibur fan, and knew there was a Soul Calibur 4 in the works for Q2, but had no idea there were more trailers (had only seen the 1st one) It's a colour thing. Yoda is green, therefore, he matches the Xbox. Vader is black, so he matches the PS3. It's most likely as simple as that. The backstory will most likely consist of each thinking that the swords could turn the Star Wars 'war' in their respective parties favour. of course they won't think it'll be the swords themselves, it'll be that they sense the "force" is highly concentrated within each. with the sword's energy, they could harness a HUGE amount of the 'force' and, thus, turn the tide. No doubt Yoda will be Vader's final fight, and vice versa. Grapples will consist of force manipulation, and their LS's will be affected by the Soul Sword's influence. having their energy drawn from them, they become marginally weaker. or some such thing. it's a technicality. in reality, one or 2 blows form ANY weapon in SC would be lethal. Light Sabers aren't much more of a stretch. One thing i hate MOST about the soul calibur games, and that is the attire of the female characters. Honestly. And after checking the images on Gamefags, it seems it won't change. Cassandra is wearing little more than a shirt and panties. Sophitia is wearing a damned nightgown, and has what look to be E cups. Ivy is a damned milkmaid. I mean, fuck... Come to think of it, it's not even the bodies so much (i mean, Taki, Ivy and most of the others need some serious breast reduction.) it's the attire. a woman who is a serious fighter will have a good figure. it's part of the lifestyle. But no warrior goes into battle wearing what ivy, or sophitia does. it's pathetic, and it's the more base form of fanservice. Serious, Namco, get those women a free breast reduction program, and buy them some clothes. after more than a decade, i think their wardrobes are wearing thin. Oh, and when I say it's gone too far, I mean this: that's just pathetic.
