Not so much the Gayfag building, but their parent company, Cnet's, building located at 201 2nd st. in San Francisco. And I didn't work for them. I worked for a company called Spider Staging. They manufacture the equipment used for window-washing on high rise buildings, as well as the same type of equipment but for temporary uses on new construction, painting and renovating of building facades, bridges, etc. www.spiderstaging.com/I worked there for 7 yrs., starting out helping set up temporary platforms across North Cali, and assisting with maintenance of permanent platforms mostly in SF, San Jose, Oakland and Sacramento. By the time I quit, I was the only mechanic for the company in the region, did pre-certification maintenance/test rides for certifications on some 60+ buildings annually and was the only guy ballsy enough to climb out windows and over walls to rescue stuck workers and malfunctioning/broken equipment. In my 7 yrs. there I've been on, under or inside every bridge in the SF bay area, under bridges on the coast near Monterey(literally over the ocean), on the light stands at the SF Giants and 49ers ballparks, hundreds of different rooftops across the state, and a few in Denver before the company opened a branch there. This is one of the last things I worked on, installing and preparing the machine for use upon completion of construction. www.spiderstaging.com/images/perm_install/perist_roof5_large.jpgTo add to this, during the construction of the Giants stadium, my then-girlfriend worked for the company that built the big clock in the outfield. They had it in their warehouse before it was shipped to the stadium and had everyone working for them etch their names on the back of it. So she put mine on there with hers.

Sounds like that kicks ass. You must've had some pretty interesting experiences doing all that.

It was an awesome job, earned me the nickname "Spiderman", but the company got taken over by a bunch of idiots that would rather create overpaid management positions that served no purpose than promote their hard-working employees. I ended up having to train my incompetent manager who had absolutely no blue collar work experience, dressed in business and wouldn't get his hands dirty from 400 miles away. He worked in LA and would come to visit for 2 days a month.
I have a big tattoo of Spiderman on my arm after I got the nickname. A few years later I decided to get a great white shark tattoo that I had positioned so it was biting Spidey's foot. After I quit working there I realized the hidden significance of the placement.
Three weeks after I quit I had a grand mal seizure and a few days later diagnosed with an epileptic condition that I 've had all my life, but never had any symptoms of until then. Now I've been advised to stay off rooftops and away from electricity.

That, dear Cisco, is teh suck. *car-ma*
Sounds like you had fun with your spideyjob of death! I worked for a penitentiary in Arkansas for a couple of years, and that brought me plenty of good stories. Mostly they detail the stupidity of the criminal element, but some are delightful, nonetheless. Like the convict that whizzed in a water balloon (he was gonna throw it on a guard) that burst on his way to the barracks gate. He was covered in it from the waist down. I think someone kicked him or punched him in the gut to burst it, too. Then there was the diptard n00b that electrocuted himself trying to disable the night lights in his cell (they're required by state law) while he was standing on his stainless steel toilet/sink unit. I lol'd at that tard the whole time we were waiting for the hall officer to bring the medical staff down to my cell block. The other convicts in his pod were laughing at him, too. It was awesome.
I actually missed it when I had to move to St. Louis. Since I wasn't 21 yet, I couldn't work DoC for Missouri, so I just went to another (similar) job. I worked at Sears.

Hey Cisco , tough break with the epilepsy.
One of my jobs is First Aid instructor, so I know a bit about that condition. At least these days they have some excellent medications which keep a lid on that shit.
A friend of mine used to suffer from physcho - motor epileptic seizures, which were brought on by consumption of vast amounts of alcohol.
As we were kids we knew shit about what was going on, we used to try and restrain him as he was thrashing about, 3 or 4 of us, and we aint small by any means. No.... fucking..... chance, he was stronger than the frigging Hulk. Very disturbing.
Anyway my advice to you is keep away from teh Disco's, Cisco !!!
Later.

^Had to fight a 85-lb crack-whore one time that was stronger than any of us. It took six CO's to restrain her, and I was the smallest of the six. I'm about 6'2" and tip the scales at 200lbs and one of the other officers was about 6'5" and 320lbs. No kidding, it took all six of us to restrain her. When the CN gas and pepper spray cleared, we were all like "WTF?!" It was spooky to say the least. Toxicology (medical ran urine tests on her) confirmed that she had uberhigh doses of heroin, PCP AND methamphetamines in her system. She coulda tore out a bank vault with all the dope she was hopped up on.
Never again. If I face someone like that, I'm just shooting them in the head and calling it a day.

Man, you've got to be careful with that epilepsy of yours. You never had a seizure while playing? Some games can provoke seizures so be careful!
I've seen someone (didn't know the guy) that was just having a seizure from epilepsy. It was one of the most disturbing things I ever witnessed.

Thanks for the concern guys. That was the only big seizure I had. After that I had a few small loss-of-conciousness seizures and had a few before that according to my old roommate. There's was also over 100 3-5sec. dizzy seizures, where I was totally awake, but just felt dizzy and nauseous. My neurologist put me on this medication called Lamictal which is working great. Last seizure I had was Aug. 3, 2005. The meds cost over $300/month, which my old insurance paid for except a $25 co-pay. My insurance now only pays for generic meds for $35 co-pay, but FDA hasn't cleared generic in U.S. yet even though it's been around for over 10 yrs. So I found out I could order generic through a Canadian pharmacy, shipping the pills from England for only $250 for 3 months. Much better, but still expensive.
I've never had seizures playing games, playing since I was 4 or 5 yrs. old. I think what triggered them was stress from work issues. Those last 6 months I was working as 1 of 3 guys, no office staff and no manager in the branch, covering North Cali, extremely overworked and not being allowed to work any overtime to catch up with things. I was basically just in a constant rush 8 hrs. a day, and with a job like that, put me in a very dangerous position as I couldn't miss a single thing in fear of causing injury or death to me, my co-workers and customers.

Damn, Cisco. Luckily no seizures ever hit when you were on the job.
About the people with super-strength...I can't recall the term right now, but our brains inhibit the full potential of muscle contraction most of the time for our own safety. If this wasn't the case, we'd injure ourselves pretty quick.
If you've taken Biology or maybe Chemistry in high school/college, they like to use the example of the old granny lifting a VW to save a pinned child. Of course, that's an example of a situation where our brains allow us super-strength.
As for the PCP/Meth crackhead, that's a nasty combo. I've come to hate meth users even more than crackheads lately, and of course we've got more and more meth labs around Stockton lately. I kinda miss the old days where only crackheads came into the ER at work...

Got modded again Yesterday for posting a report for the "Mod and Admin BR" that Ciscrack / KKK / GG_ordon had designed for the 'Ring Diary. For those curious here 'Tis. G’Day all.
Thought I had better drop in with a couple of catch up reports.
Ford Mustang GT ’05 Weekend Rider™
Brief and to the point. Pretty good Car. As mentioned before I ran Car stock, aids off but moved ballast slider to –30 ( balanced to the front ). I think this, plus really good brakes, made Car much more inclined to oversteer and significantly quickened up steering.
Enjoyable laps with a best of 8 ‘ 04. 646 on second lap. Bailed out of another couple of laps when + 2 seconds. Might go back and try and bust through 8 Min barrier one day.
Moderator and Administrator Budget Rider™
Hello.
My name is Jake.
I am a Moderator.
Like many others here at this meeting, my Moderating began as a Social thing. You know, just the occasional Moderation with the gang after work. Then it was every Night. Then Weekends. My work began to suffer, I lost friends. Before I knew it I was Modding my Wife and Children and I knew I was in trouble but I could not stop !
Then a friend suggested coming along to an MA meeting with him, so here I am. I am determined to follow the 12-step plan, and break the hold Modding has on my Life. My doctor has also suggested I take up something as a distraction. I have decided to return to my old hobby, Ricing and driving old Japanese Cars. At a recent auction I attended I missed out on a beaut Civic ( my favourite ! ) but scored a nice ’88 Nissan Silvia K’s ( S13) for only 6,900 bucks.
I have since added a cool wing and alloy wheels, sports exhaust, Turbo 1 and remapped chip for a bit more punch (hey, might even be able to do a bit of drifting now !! ). I think a Racing Flywheel and Twin clutch & ripping out the back seats should give me a pretty good Car for about 20 K.
Most of my victims seem to like a track called "Noobring" or something, so I will take the old girl for a spin there.
So here goes - Silvia is a pretty good Car, handles real nice even with road tyres. I guess the wing helps keep everything sticking to the road nicely. Reasonable punch and good stock brakes.
So, what is this corner coming up, “Flugplatz” ?
Seems okay.......................... Holy s***, what the f*** ( rest of this sentence deleted at the request of a Mod or Admin ).
Fifteen mods later, lap is concluded at about 8 ‘ 52 . 205 Hard to tell exactly, as Silvia Black Flagged for frequent violations.
Rats. So there you go. No sense of humour those guys. Later. ps- I cannot claim credit for starting the practice of writing mini novels for BR writeups. I think it was Imhansen who started that idea. Not everyone does it, and it certainly is not compulsory. Just adds a bit to the proceedings. I was actually inspired to start doing it by Soulidarity, as prior to that I would no more want to write anything than I would be torn apart by Wild Mustangs. So it is all his fault and for that I am eternally grateful.

Good one.
Obviously too funny to be on GFAQS. Funny things are automatically deleted there.

;D ;D ;D
If that's a typical 'Ring Diary entry, it has to be brought here. I must admit I never checked it out while on G'FAGs, and now I can't cuz I'm OMFGBANNZOR'D.

That's about what you get for an entry in the Diaries, the beginning part anyways. Looks like VitG added his own flair to the Diaries. I'm glad my WR got good responses.

LOLzor at Viper's post. That's some funny stuff, there. T3h Gh3ymeF4GQS moderators suck SO hard, that much is certain. Folks need to understand that there is actually a NON-THIRD-REICH website where they can enjoy discussing their favorite racing game. Now WHERE could someone do that?...
I wonder...
