Oh, and Pred, what Igni said. I'm surprised what's-his-name hasn't told his mod buddies that they might want to inject a bit of logic into their explanations, since he's so concerned with our complaining.
For a long time, I tried to get people over here, but then people just started going back there. I guess maybe I just gave up, especially seeing as how Fox and Compy are barely around, either. I still don't post anywhere NEARLY as often as I would over there. That would be pointless, seeing as how anything I say can apparently be grounds for deletion, now...

Well, lately, their GT boards have been deader than usual. I guess that's what happens when you have mods that delete everything.
I've been spending some time at the FFXII board, since I just started a new game and I'm going for PERFEKSHUN! So far I haven't been modded, as opposed to GT, where I was getting modded every day at least. It's kinda nice, this change of pace.

Alright, I'm gonna go off on a rant here. No telling where this may lead, but bear with me.
What the flying hell? I was freakin suspended, for a sig. Now, i was previously modded for a message containing my intent to quote someone on their BRILLIANT summation of Sickpuppy, a resident troll of the MGS4 boards.
That is it. It was modded for trolling. Now, i took that as just another bullshit modification. I pissed off a mod for saying OH EM GEE, and that was that. Never was i warned for the sig. infact, i posted that message FIVE freaking days ago, and nothing came of it, with me sigged as such.
I only learned there was a problem, when i was freakin suspended, for virtually owning said idiot using one of his own "MGS4 is coming to 360" bullshit assed links. That message was deleted, and i was warned, and suspended, for...and lemme check here...oh, shit! "Moderator discretion". THAT is my fucking explanation. They don't even need to give you a reason anymore. none. just say it's their discretion, and it's aaaaallllll cool. Now i know, this is a message board, ya know? T3H INTRAWEBZ! SERIOUZ BIZNEZ! and all that. but it just freakin pisses the hell out of me, when they screw ya over like that.
I could contest it. I could say "what is the reason for me getting modded?" guaranteed I'd get some bullshit answer, that is made only to piss me off. Honestly, they'd probably say "we can mod you whenever we want, bitch" and that'd be it. Honestly. "Moderator Discretion"?! what the fuck? So now, they can go around, modding people for shit no one cares about, for no apparent reason, and say it was "their discretion".
DAMN i wish i could find a better place for MGS4 information. unfortunately, Onslaught, Samurai, Hitcher, and the others only frequent gamefags, that i recall. And Cyborg is Mr. GT5...freaking gamefaqs.....

I wouldn't worry about getting information from there, anyway. I like to stay away from message boards until I'm able to beat a game on my own. Helps to be surprised, you know?
The only thing I care about is release dates, and most of the time people get those wrong, anyway.

the MGS4 boards actually do have intelligent and sentient posters. I remember one occasion where a few of us actually had fully sentient conversation on various things for a while. it was amazing!
Nightmare: And that is why Gamefaqs needs a PM system (that i know, there isn't one). They coulda easily PM'd me on my sig, and i would have (begrudgingly) changed it. What i really don't get, is the fact that the post by the person whom i quoted that phrase from, was not deleted.
It wasn't that that pissed me off. a couple days suspension and a warning, big whoop. it was this "moderator discretion" shit that pissed me off. how they can mod you for any damned thing, and call it "their discretion"....BAH..whatever.

LOL I bet the MGS4 folks are sentient. Unlike those damn GTA people, who are in fact just rocks bouncing around randomly on their keyboards.
The mod discretion thing, I'm assuming, is when a mod just happens upon a violation that nobody has marked. It's nothing new, it just doesn't happen so much on a board as dead as GT's. Hell, I've gotten that a couple times, I just can't remember what for. I probably made DRZ look stupid. It's hard to take credit when he does the work for you, though.

Seriously though, Gamefaqs NEEDS a PM system. at least for mods to contact members. then we wouldn't be getting modded for crap we could avoid with a well placed PM.

They expect you to be mindful of the ToS and police yourself on things like sigs. They tell you the punishments for breaking the rules and expect that you'll want to avoid those and won't put things that are against the ToS in your sig. The problems arise with borderline cases (which I think this qualifies as). It wasn't crystal clear that this was suspendable, so it should've merited a warning before action like suspension.

Yeah, I have noticed a bunch of new users indulging in troll like behaviour too.
Maybe they have come en masse from another board and are playing a game like -
"Lets see how many people we can irritate/insult/annoy here, score 1 point for anyone who responds and an extra point if they insult us back".
