you can drive a car before your level is high enough to buy it. takes level 23 to buy a 787, but I can drive a traded one at 21 apparently.
quite shitty, IMHO. a tactic used to make people trade cars more methinks. this does however work for us, as we can use prize cars in the same manner.
also, endurance events are apparently unlocked from level 25 upwards, with the 24hr races being unlocked at levels 35 and 40. VERY shitty, IMHO.

I'm kinda bewildered about the damage system.
I took a car 212 mph, drove it straight in the tirewall at the Mulsanne...nothing
Granted it was a NASCAR CoT but still
Yet when I slid my M3 into a wall at Trial Mountain, I got some hood damage almost immediately..
not a MAJOR problem but just...weird...

it does seema little off.
apparently mechanical damage comes into play at level 30. I'm gonna try to hit 25 tonight. unlikely, since I have like 4 events still open and have completed almost all of the special events, but hey, I think 23 might be possible.
and this recent turn of evets and string of perplexed posts has made me realize: we thoguht we knew so goddamned much about this game. and it released, as we really don't know jack shit all.

Ha, you guys are way past me. I'm lvl.12, grand total of 30 cars. 7 of those are bonus cars. For my next trick, I'll be silvering IA. I got 3 done last night, after a handful of real races and a photo lap. I think a gold was mixed in there somewhere, too. Still I'm having a blast, even though I haven't been able to put NEARLY the time into this game that I would have liked. Oh, and golding license tests is TOTALLY possible with a DS3. Just takes some very precise thumbwork.

level 22 right now. 1.4 million away from my Peugeot 908, and have found a pretty decent farming race. Like the wind race #2 takes about 5 minutes. with that RM zo6 I keep yakking about, it's easily winnable.
for perspective: roughly 2 hours of grinding gets me my 908 tomorrow. now it's not something i'm lookin forward to, because 22 re-races just sucks ass. But, it's not a bad way to make money for anything costing less than a million bucks.
goddamned b-day glitch has flooded any trading topic with stuff from before 93. it would seem that veyr few people have anything newer, and fewer want to trade.
Note also that Bspec seems to be the way to go for prize cars. example? the Zonda R, a 2.6 million dollar production racing car (which can be competitive against grop C cars, apparently) is won relatively early in bspec mode, when you factor in the performance of such a car.

I've decided to do some more b-spec farming in the near future. I'm not going to be able to use a wheel until Christmas break, so I figured why not get the parts of the game that don't need it out of the way?

Finished Golding all the Karting events.
Went with the C6.R idea that was shown here (in Comptizione Red *gasp*)
Now just going through race by race.

BTW: anyone want a gallardo? I won one online tonight and already have one. So It's up for grabs.

The Gallardo offer is tempting, but I told myself I wasn't going to obtain any cars outside of the normal means of winning and/or buying them. Of course, I'm probably going to renege on that when I get to the point where I need more expensive cars... Also, in order to trade a car, I would need to add you to my PSN friends list, which is currently empty. I wouldn't want to spoil my perfect record

ya sure? I have a caterham just lying around that I don't really wanna use man.
We could race online, i'd put the caterham on the line, and when you won (lol me beat you, right!) I could give it to ya. think of it as a prize car!
for anyone unsure of which high end race car to buy: Buy a fucking FGT. it's 5 million bucks, and you need to be lvl 24 to buy it ( yet its race series is level 23. . .WTF PD, WTF) but it's a PECKER to find. as in, people are begging to borrow them on GF. me included.

Ijst got to lvl 23 and wtf?! I did the American Championship and some other stuff, and I'm still like 100k exp short of 24....
oh, and the first race of the American Championship is a better farming race: more money and weaker competition for the C6.RM

Found my FGT finally!
and for those who don't know: the used car lot cycles every event you enter and stuff (like days in GT4), so entering a license and going through 4 (without playing) will cycle all but 2 cars in the lot.
