boss called me, randomly said we'd be building a palce in wainwright AB.
later that night, i was driving for 4 hours to wainwright. next day, we started.
today, we finished, 7 days later.
I'm feelin mighty proud. 7 days to building a 1400sq ft house, from the foundation up. we even shingled the bastard. that took me 2 days, or we woulda been done in about 5, rather than 7.
anyway, what's gone on since I've left?

Cool! The house I just bought is a hair over 1400 sq ft.
Nothing has been going on. I got a few new museum trading cards. That's it.

i need to quit that. bit of a brag, but a stilletto is like the most awesomesauce hammer ever. picked one up when I got paid yesterday.
it's amazing.
on a side note: a chick friend legitimately thought I was buying a pair of stillettos.

nevermind on the stilletto for now. srsly broke.
just pickedup a 1995 Chev 2500HD 6.5 turbo diesel for 1500 bucks. It's a chev, so I'm praying for forgiveness from God, since he's a dodge man, but it's a nice chev. bad shape bodily, mechanically sound, save a tie rod end and rear brakes.
pics soon to follow.

kind of, yeah. I've made fun of this chev of mine non stop since I bought it yesterday.
still, i needed 4x4 (don't ask. it's THAT icy here) and I wanted a diesel, and NO ONE sells a non oil burning dodge diesel for under 4 grand here. even the 80's ones go for nearly 5. with twice the mileage of the Sloverado. this one needs maybe 200 bucks worth of work, and it was 1500. i can't pass that up.
but be easy. I have a set of mudflaps for my dodge that are going on the chev. everyone is gonna know I'd rather be behind a ramhead than a bowtie, by the time I'm done.

I get the whole ice thing. Apparently the city of Fargo saw fit to sell all but one of their snow plows, which has resulted in the good parts of the city's streets being covered with packed snow and the bad parts of the city's streets being pure ice. On more than one occasion and in more than one place this winter, I have been unable to come to a complete stop at an intersection because I was sliding sideways into a gutter. When it's icy enough that that all four tires lose traction when they aren't moving and the vehicle is stationary, 4WD doesn't help too much.

the roads here are luckily paved so shittily that the pavement is rutted. or I'd know exactly WTF you were talking about. on a cambered corner, the rear end of my dodge would swing to the inside all the time.
when i CANNOT drive my diesel in 2wd on flat pavement, the city needs to pick it the fuck up. srsly y0.
