Alright, here's the deal: A fully tuned Impreza Spec C has the power to spin the tires through third with the spray set at full power, with R5's.
622hp does not do that.
It also hits the end of the strip at 180+mph once you turn TCS on (up to 6, as the tune for 7.7 E.T's suggests) so that it doesn't annhilate the tires on the spray.
622hp in even a 2200lb car does not do that (1000kg).
Why isn't a massively better power-weight car the E.T record holder? (E.G Skyline/3000GT/RS6/RS4/CTR2)
I realize the Escudo is the outright quickest (by all of a tenth. Big diff in drag racing, not so much considering the power advantage), but it actually HAS the power needed.
Answer?

One of the programmers apparently owns that car, and wanted to seem cooler than (s)he is.

Rotary, just a thought: check the torque band (little green and yellow graph in the upper-right of the settings menu) on the Spec C and compare it to the others.
This subject came up with the GT-0ne vs. MINOLTA in top speed one time. Someone asked why a car that weighs less and has more horsepower could go faster. I think it has a lot to do with the torque band. The GT-0ne has higher torque available a lot earlier than the MINOLTA, as well as possessing a flatter torque band. Aerodynamics may also play a minor role. There are lots of variables that go into it, but aren't very apparent.

to the other imprezas? it's much the same, they all have similar torque bands.

Wow, -5? Somebody doesn't like t3h pred.
If he has left the boards, can someone get rid of his avatar? It's a tad annoying, and quite poor quality. Strangely, even though it's poor quality, it still slows things down.

Fox could probably do that. But maybe not. If someone new his password they could do it.
