GT5... I thought HD was coming out hey no matter, my biggest concern... it better be ps2 compatible, no way i'll be able to afford a ps3 just for that game As for game play, 6 cars just ain't enough to compete against, i wanna see 30 car races. whos with me on that

^Or merrily push you offroad into the kitty litter?
I'd rather have intelligent AI, even above more cars/tracks or anything else, really. Just make them stop frickin' hitting my ass when I'm trying to turn.

Long as those downloads are free, I'll be fine with that. If they start microtransacting us, I'm gonna be SUPER pissed!.

everyone is going to use microtransactions, it's already happening in some games and is being planned for most games coming out. I don't mind as long as you get a full game and then pay a LITTLE for a bunch of extras.

I just hate the direction the industry is taking. It's like the developers are telling us they care more about our money than our satisfaction. Instead of putting out a good game with a lot of features, they'll just trot out a new one every year that's full of bugs and lacking in features, then make you pay to get the quality game that you would bet without the microtransactions.
The only way this will work for me is if a game that needs microtransactions to work really well is initially cheaper than it would have been.

Nightmare summed up my feelings nicely. I despise this microtransaction, beta, glitchy incomplete bullshit. It's like the entire videogame industry is jumping on the bandwagon of MMORPG's and trying to make the world a global gaming community. To HELL with updates, upgrades, expansions, downloads and all that other BS. It's just their way of dipping into my pockets a little further.
I for one have NEVER been a big fan of online play. Sure network is fun, because you're with your friends, together, sharing beer/pizza and screen-watching like it was Christmas. However, with online, you run the risk of encountering millions of 10-year-olds that cheat the hell out of the game, then quit mid-challenge while you're pwning their asses without Astroglide®.
**** that shit...

i know, it's a shame. But like it or not it is happening. This gen if you don't have your console hooked up to the internet then you may aswell not have it, with all the firmware and shit. Also i'd like to add that rarely have sony, microsoft or nintendo cared about the we feel. They just want our money, and if for them to get it, it means that they have to con you into buying extras for a game then they will do that.
I think that the PS3 will probably be the last console i buy, after that i will just not care about how many cars GT8 will have, or whether there really is a bigfoot in GTA......
I'll spend my money on more important things in life.......Like hookers.

lol hookers. So much more important.
I'm really seriously considering buying a top-end gaming computer, since thats what a lot of my friends have. That might make me forsake consoles forever, I just don't know right now. In any case, I'm not buying a console until they drop in price and get some more games.

the problem with gaming computers is that the technology is moving so quicky that you will find yourself needing to buy very expensive upgrades every year just to run the most modern games.
