Yeah, I realize that. I think the game selection isn't as good either. But a PC, when it's updated, will far outperform a console. But like I said, it's jut something I'm considering. There are pros and cons for both the computer and the console. A lot of the reason I want a computer is that my friends all do that, and it's kind of boring at LAN parties without a computer of your own. But I'm an oddball among my friends, I play racing games, they play MMORPGs.

See, that's the beauty of being so old: you're not overly impressed with all the latest shinies and gadgetry. I'm still entertained (and RIGHTEOUSLY so) with old monochromatic GameBoy games like Metroid II, and the SNES classics like Chrono Trigger, FFWTFEVARNUMBERITIS and the archaic PSOne games. I don't NEED to be "in the NOW" with gaming. Give me a sharpened stick and a handful of rocks, and I'm good for the next few hours...

I'm a kid and I still love Chrono Trigger and all those old games. Sim City!

I still have great fun with my NES on occaision as well, and my GBC sees more play than most of my PS2 games. I just like being able to shove all my performance in a console owners face (cuz I've had that done to me on more than one occaision)

^in a bad way. If M2 was remade with the Super Metroid engine, I'd be ÜB3R happy. (items, as well as controls)

Don't forget a map. I used to get so lost as a kid, but after a few dozen playthroughs I was able to figure out where everything is. I wonder what would happen if I picked the original game up now...
Anyone else remember the good old days where you had the time to find shit for yourself and didn't have to resort to using websites like gaymefags for their walkthroughs?
P.S. Some funny suggestions for gaymefags in the spell checker are gamecocks, gasbags, fags (uh, that's part of the word, actually but thanks anyway), garbages, and gulags.

Their spellcheck accepts British English, so it thinks a fag is a cigarette.

But in US or Canada you would NOT want to be caught DEAD smoking a fag.

^Not unless you were....
y'know...
....ghey.
BTW, Delta, back before they had GheymFAGQs, I just drew my own map of SR388. It was frickin HUGE, too. Took forever. But, I had all 6 (that's right 6) energy tanks and 22 missile upgrades marked, as well as every item.
I did have to consult a Hindendu Poweh (nintendo power) to find out that you have to BOMB the arachnoid thingy to get the spring ball. Stupid bastard used to clean my clock all the time, and I NEVER could find out how to hurt it. I just gave up on it.
Actually, I almost beat the game a couple of times without the Varia. I r0x0r'd at that game. Best time ever was 1:21. Booya.

I remember the 2nd quest in the original Legend of Zelda (I'm actually wearing the t-shirt today, lol). That was hella tough without a map. Even the first quest was tough without a map, and still is.

I don't remember any arachnoid thingies, but I remember spring ball. I also remember the queen metroid was easier than some of the metroids shortly before it (forgot names).
LOZ wasn't too bad. Took me forever to beat the last dungeon thanks to my parents taking my NES away for being bad. I never could beat the 2nd quest, though. I've actually been thinking about trying again.
Also, for some reason, I have the worst time playing LOZ2. I get my ass kicked a lot by those stupid knight things that stab you from their chest or their...groin area? I think I've beaten it up to the 4th dungeon. Thank god for save-states!

Don't let me fool you, I haven't beaten 2nd quest either. I really didn't like LoZ2, and never seriously played any of the series after that.

Nightmare: You oughta give Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time a shot. They're both well worth the money, IMHO.
Delta: I don't remember it's exact name, but it was the critter that you kill to get the spring ball. It beats getting shot by knight-wangs any day, though...
