To raise popularity and as well as for fun, I think we should do some sort of youtube project thing... Where we make an account for the whole GTF board members to use and we can make GT videos and upload them.
That would help to keep the community growing and it'd be fun.
What do you think?

That would work, if all of us had a quality means of getitng video. as it stands, I'd be using a camera, and others would be using the same. Pictures work easier...
*sigh* if only GT4 movies could be saved as a common video format...

I like this idea. I've actually been wondering how to make videos. Don't you need a tv tuner or something? I'd be totally for this, if I had some help/advice in making quality clips.

You can either take a video camera and just sit it behind you so we can see you and the TV, or you can buy a Capture card, hook it up to your PS2/PS3 and your PC. the capture cards record the data that is transmitted by the AV cables and puts it into a video format your computer can work with.

Capture cards give TV quality. not the fuzzy Camera infront of TV quality that is so common. A decent capture card will run anywhere from 70-120, if i recall correctly. I've always had a hankering for one, but never been able to get one.

Very true, but I really like the camera thing because you can see the person actually turning their wheel and stuff, it's pretty interesting. With the camera, I don't mean RIGHT in front of the TV, but back a little, like 30 degrees angle behind the driver, like you see in a lot of GT4 videos. I'll try to get an example.

Yes, the capture cards, I've heard of those. Anyone have any that they've had good experiences with?

I posess such a device. I have been using it to make videos of speed runs etc. for the last two years. Some of the Ringdiary regulars would be familiar with my work. Visit Gamespot - the Gran turismo Union and look at some of my vids there ( quality average as compressed) I have a host site with much bandwidth and you may use that to host any videos you want. The quality of vids from my Capture card is better than the vids on google or youtube because they are not compressed further following production.
Let me know what you want and i will do it.

I intend to shell out for a cheapish one soon.
Also, doesn't an ARMAX double as a VCC? (Hence, Action Replay Max)

I have been wondering about these myself. As of right now, I just hold my camera in front of the television to get all of my GT5 Prologue and GT4 videos. It could be a lot better, but the quality is still above a lot of the junk you can find on youtube.

GTP Spartan is the crazy 13 year old.
Justin: A VCC (or video capture card) lets you take video directly from your PS2/TV combo, save it, and throw it onto your computer for usage. they aren't that expensive, but not really cheap either (from 70-130 is the range I've seen). Pretty awesome methinks.
