If you have cold weather in winter (like 40 degrees Fahrenheit or so) riding a motorcycle in that is going to be miserable. Ditto for precipitation. It would work if you had like an $800 clunker as well for those days when a bike is impractical.

a skidoo suit with some heated grips would easily solve his problem of cold weather.
it's not gonna be that. A Skidoo suit is good and warm as the only layer until you hit like -25C. colder than that, ya need to layer it. However, what's gonna be the pisser on a bike is the ice that will inevitably develop on the roads during the winter. Particularly on corners. pulling out of an icy corner, even with studded off road tires, on a 600cc V-Twin (even a 250cc started bike) can be pure suicide, if you don't have impeccable riding posistion/reactions.

what's the limit age for getting a motorcycle license? I'd assume it's the same as driving, which would be 16-17.
Yeah, but I doubt my mom would let me do something like that, just yesterday, we were in the car and some people on bikes rode by, she said it was crazy and just suicide. So I doubt she'd say yes to something like that.
good news, I found a 944 for sale just down the road. I could only see the outside as we were passing by, but it looked to be in excellent shape, no dings or dents and the paint looked new.
My b-day is coming up, this saturday. So I'll take 90% of the money I get there (if i get any) and put it in my bank account which is going towards my car.
I also like the thought of a Mazda 3, but I'm only a bit worried about the fwd thing, although I suppose it would be better than rear wheel for winter time.

I also drove a Mazda3 at Skip Barber. We only did threshold braking tests in it, but it seemed pretty quick up to 45mph for a little FWD 4-door. And it was just a 3, not a Speed3, manual with ABS disengaged.

The 944 will treat you as good as you treat it. They need a little babying, if it's an earlier year, but beyond that, it should be a good car. Quick question: If the bumper complete, or like...2 separate pieces? This? Or this?

i only see one picture.
dang, I dunno how much longer I'll last out... I'm already super hyped for something that's not coming for 2 years or so.
That was the EXACT model, color and everything.

I like the second one most, the design of the front bumper looks overall better. I don't like the wheels tough, they look alike those seen on Alfas 156 and 166, which are ugly. Second picture BTW

haha. most people are surprised to learn that a Porsche or BMW will run them about the same as the average car, if they look around, and don't mind something a little older (which, in my book, is usually better than today's garbage).
Honestly, alot of people don't realize just how cheap you can find some of these cars.

Yeah, I saw a Merc W113 2+2 a few months back for $4000. It only needed a new exhaust. If I had had the money, it would be in my driveway now.

Speaking of Porsche...
A few weeks before my brother had that race he was in, their team took the car to Thunderhill raceway in way North Cali. The day was organized by a Volvo owners club, so anyone who was a member had to sign up for a spot, but they could bring anything they wanted. This guy on my brothers team builds race versions of Miatas and RX-7s, so he brought a few of those and they also had their LeMon car for testing/troubleshooting.
Anyway, everyone there was of different levels of driving experience, and had different classes of cars. They had sessions split up so there was an amateur driver/slower car class, experienced driver/slower to mid range cars, and experienced driver/fast cars.
During lunch the guy that organized the day talked to the guys with the fast cars and arranged for all the other guys to take a ride along for a few laps. Jesse was hoping to get into a Volvo this one guy had with a huge V8 in it, but as he's standing there waiting a guy in a Turbo 911 pulls up and gestures to him to get in.
He said when he first took off it felt like he was in a jet getting slammed back against the seat, braking was obviously the exact opposite, the guy was barely maintaining control in the turns, and he said he looked at the speedo when the got to the end of the straight. It said 160!
