^^ loL!!!
WR: Nike 2022
What an ...unusual... car! I haven't played GT4 in a while (loss of data + house move = no MOTIVATION! MOTIVATE ME SOMEONE!!!!!) and this probably wasn't the best car to drive. I took it for a spin on the 'Ring (High speed ring lol) to get used to the gearing, then another run on El Capitan to try and get used to elevation changes, none of which really helped. I found the car/bike/thing to be a little understeery (probably because I was looking at the wheels turning and not the road) but managed a decent-ish lap with only minor injuries to the driver. Most enjoyable though - I felt I got a better idea of the gradients, especially in the technical section after Karussel.

Nike One 2022 WR
Wow this thing is both odd looking and odd handling (at least for me), I could never really control the car fully and I only produced a 7'29.211 after a few laps.

Alright! Since it's me picking a car, and since we haven't tested any...
Fiat Coupé Turbo Plus
I was originally going with the Charger R/T, but we did a muscle car 2 weeks ago, so I picked this one.
What do you all think?

Works for me ^__^
I might not get to it until sometime next week though. Still don't have access to my PS2.

Good pick, Nemesis. I took it out for a few laps already and it feels better than what I expected, my laps times don't seem any good so far though, more laps are going to be coming.

The Fiat looks like a fun pick. I'll try to get to it sometime this weekend.
Since there are a lot of new members, some of which weren't with us on "the other board", I thought I'd post the original guidelines for the weekend rider from page 1. These guidelines are not written in stone, and I think we all enjoy stepping outside the lines now and then, but I believe everyone should at least know what they are.
Please read:
The Weekend Rider™ is the oldest. In this one person (generally chosen by the last to have the pick) picks a car that they think will be amusing, enlightening, joyful, aggravating, or fun for the other Diary readers. The pick is announced sometime on Friday, preferably before too late. For the rest of the weekend, we share our experiences, be they positive or negative, with our fellow 'Ringers. Lap times are not of the utmost importance, though we do share them, compare them, and try if we can to come closest to the best. It is not a competition! Though at times it may seem that way, it really isn't. What is important is how you achieve your lap times.
The Weekend Rider™ is run stock, on the tyres it comes on (or worse, at the driver's option -- the N grade tyres are closer to real world spec), with an oil change permitted. It should be a street car and comply with the noise regulations of the real Nürburgring -- i.e. stock exhaust. Also, it should be buyable or, if winnable, easily winnable. (No gold license prizes, mission prizes or Endurance/Extreme Hall prizes, unless it seems agreeable by general consensus.) You may use the driving aids if you so desire, but most of us run them with all aids off.
Thanks. Enjoy!

^Which is why I tend to run the WR™'s in Arcade Mode...

Just curious. Has anyone ever run the same car in both arcade mode and GT mode to see if the handling and times are exactly the same? I'd assume they would be, but I've never put it to the test.

I did once with my Tom's castrol Supra GT '99 and my Toyota Supra RZ '97 and a saleen s7 to. they seem to handle the same, but in arcade mode, I tend to play better. don't know why. Give some love for the Fiat. gonna try it out today and maybe get up a time also today.

Well, I took the Coupé for a spin, and I'm surprised.
Sure, the car has some problems of understeer (which FF car doesn't have them, eh?), but once the car starts braking, it not only breaks well, but it also turns exceedingly well.
Still, it has some acceleration problems in lower gears due to the fact of being FF.
Pretty nice little car.

Despite it being a wrong wheel drive car, I thought it was good fun. I had a short but pleasant sojourn onto the grass on the techy section after Karrulsel (not my strongest part of the track) and hit the brakes too late after the D-H straight otherwise a decent funster. I could imagine taking this out for a run on some other tracks, in fact i think it could be a bit of a sleeper...
